Ya I'd recommend this one. I still think about it years later. My main complaint is that one of the routs seemed unfinished. Other than that, I like the story, characters, art style, h-scenes (from the site), and especially the soundtrack. This probably has my favorite soundtrack of any vn I've played so at least give it a listen.
Bol bol slice of life, okul hayatı, bir miktar komedi sahnesi ve az miktarda aksiyon sahnesi içeriyor.

Suguri is sooooo cute!!!!
If you're a fan of assuming a different identity than the usual normal high school teen protagonist, or just like a good story, then this game is for you. The game's length is about 20-24 hours for an all route completion, but as you get immersed into the story you lose track of time passing which was a nice feeling for me. Every route gives you new information, not just about the character you're choosing, but about the protagonist that you play as, making each one of them worth the read and time invested
This novel is easy to perceive and understand, it will suit you when you are bored with long and twisted storytelling. Though scenarists did not try to set the Thames on fire; ergo the thing sometimes feels kinda like a kinetic novel, in this case, it is not a bad thing. Cute visuals and pleasant soundtrack take their places too. Also, I remark nicely written h-scenes that are often cringeworthy to read, but not here. Far from reaching the stars but who said it always should be like that. 7/10
I enjoyed this game quiet a bit, it wasn't too short but it didn't drag on either. The story and plot where well conceived and the alternate history bit was a nice change that I think a lot of people enjoy simply because it is different than reality. I know some people may complain about the characters and how they are developed in the sense they follow the same Meta as other characters, but in essence they still had their own unique charm that can't be denied. The music and voice over was well done and enjoyable. Graphically speaking the drawing was done well but I wouldn't say it was top grade either. That said I'm not complaining one bit about it either. I think my only thought would be making something like an "Afterstory" add-on that would feature endings that would match the path for each of the other girls. I know that the jest of the story isn't really designed for that but I am just saying it would add a bit of flare. All in all I'd recommend this to just about anyone.
Let me go over the positives first: - The worldbuilding is interesting - The prologue is interesting - The music is good - The artstyle (for the heroines) is good - I don't have issues with the translation or the characters themselves. And onto my overall issues with the game, Hello Goodbye is, first and foremost, a slice-of-life romance with a spy subplot in it. This by itself is *not* a big negative, I did enjoy Riddle Joker after all. Though unlike Riddle Joker where the spy subplot is just half-baked and underwhelming, this one is... bad. I don't really know how to describe why it is bad, I think it's probably because all the interesting characterization and worldbuilding are there, buried in glossary infodumps, but none of that is used in the story at all. And most importantly, the romance/fluff writing isn't good enough to supplant the subplot issue like Riddle Joker did (to me). Other less glaring negatives I can immediately recall include: - Heroine routes are very, very repetitive. You can especially feel it in this game because the plot and route structure really beg a multiple route mystery (There is no multiple route mystery) - Body proportions of the MC is comically bad - There are few plot details that are just there and they don't make sense. They're probably just to make the plot feel more mysterious To conclude, Hello Goodbye is a wholly forgettable VN with good worldbuilding but terrible execution.
I'd like to start with the negatives. The writing is weird, but I'm not even sure that's the right word to use here. For example, the MC, Kaito sometimes contradicts himself rather quickly after a statement, there are instances when the dialogue feels uninspired and boring. During Koharu's route, the last showdown feels extremely weak, it's almost like the writers didn't exactly knew how they wanted to resolve the situation. It's also light on action, not what you'd expect from a story with a spy as its main character, so that might be a big letdown to some. Not to say there aren't any actions scenes at all, and they're not bad, but you get my point. It also pulls its punches quite a bit. Most of the more serious issues are resolved conveniently and quickly, so there isn't much tension, which makes it a bit less interesting. The characters themselves are rather bland too. It's not terrible or anything and I wouldn't say they lack charm, but they're certainly not very memorable either. Likeable, yes, memorable, no. Some of the H-scenes are oddly timed and most of them are less than mediocre. Now, for the positives. I never expected this, but actually, the romance is quite strong in pretty much every route. Not mushy or overly dramatic, they're just nice, pure and wholesome, like they should be. The endings are very satisfying and rewarding, it made me feel like it was worth playing every route. The music is just great. I found myself just listening to the music without doing anything quite a few times, so it's worth mentioning. Alongside the art, which is not amongst the best I've seen, but it does have a certain charm, it kinda reminds me a few of those mid-late 2000's typical rom-com anime art style and the actualy character designs definitely appeal to me. While the writing could be a bit better, but the story still does a decent enough job that I always want to know more and the last route does a good enough job at answering most questions I was personally curious about. While the major conflicts resolutions are usually pretty safe, personally I was fine with them because it always made sense (except the very last one) and it still felt satisfying, at least to me. If I want to sum it up, the concept is very interesting, but it lacks impact because of how safe it plays. With that said, it's still satisfying with suprisingly strong romance and I'd say, it's worth a read if your current VN queue is empty.
Overall a fairly underwhelming VN. Only buy on deep sale.
