Man I remember playing the absolute HELL this on the PS Vita (ironically one of those scant few 'you just HAD to be there' moments the Vita had). After which I dropped it, picked it up again far later, realised there's tons of griefers on the game and then bought it on PC some five years later... then barely touching the PC version. and, well, today I remembered why. It's really not [i]only[/i] about me having maxed out everything on the console version... It's still fun to blast clankers, fish and bugs with a machinegun, or explode them with a dubiously-tossed grenade or... well or use one of the many many ways of dispatching enemies this game offers. Definitely one of the top five is dropping a stratagem directly on an enemy's face, though. You're going to have a huge adjustment period if you're coming from Helldivers 2, though. However, while the game is seriously fun, at the same time it looks extremely - EXTREMELY! - scuffed! It's like Arrowhead hadn't quite figured [i]it[/i] out yet. Compared to the likes of Magicka (released four years prior), it very much feels like an Android port to PC. I guess my perspective is a bit warped here since low-res stuff just looks better on smaller screens and I've only ever experienced this game on the PS Vita... The bottom line really is, I liked it back then, I like it now... whether I'll stick with it is up for debate, when there's a far superior game that follows basically the same gameplay loop (hell, even your ship is laid out similarly).
