From the makers of Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and DmC: Devil May Cry, comes a warrior’s brutal journey into myth and madness. Set in the Viking age, a broken Celtic warrior embarks on a haunting vision quest into Viking Hell to fight for the soul of her dead lover.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

I'm not usually a horror fan, but this game had been sitting in my backlog for years. For some reason, I kept ignoring it. Today I was bored and finally decided to give it a shot... and Oh boy, how in the hell did I sleep on this game for so long? It's an absolute masterpiece. The world is incredible, the graphics look amazing, the music, VFX, and voice acting are all top-notch, and the story kept me hooked from start to finish. The atmosphere is easily one of the game's biggest strengths. My only real criticism is that the combat felt a bit weaker compared to everything else, but it's still fun and never took away from the experience. Definitely an 8/10 for me. If you're into horror games, I could easily see this being a 9/10.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 14: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

You’re going to have mixed feelings about this game and even more so if you bring up the sequel in the wrong company, but taken on its own terms Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a remarkable experience that stuck with me after I finished the game. Ninja Theory did a phenomenal job creating a game that plays closer to a film and leaned into that completely rather than apologizing for it. The walking simulator label is fair, the puzzles repeat their own logic more than they should, and the combat while satisfying in its own right never reaches the depth that dedicated action games offer. However I believe none of that stopped it from being one of the more affecting titles I’ve played in recent memory. The reason is simply because of the phenomenal performance from Melina Juergens. A woman who was a video editor at Ninja Theory with no prior acting experience and was originally cast as a placeholder. She ended up delivering a performance that won a BAFTA and frankly earned it. Senua’s psychosis is rendered through binaural audio that the game instructs you to experience through headphones, voices that whisper and argue and warn from every direction, and Juergens carries the emotional weight of that across the entire runtime without it ever feeling performative. It’s genuinely extraordinary work. The studio did extensive research with neuroscientists and people with lived experience of psychosis to get the portrayal right, and that care shows. The game won multiple awards including that BAFTA for Juergens specifically, which for a relatively small independent project going up against major studio productions says everything about how seriously Ninja Theory took the material. Visually it remains stunning. The art direction and facial capture work set a standard that games with ten times the budget haven’t consistently cleared since. Runs great on Steam Deck on lower settings, one particularly brutal rain soaked level aside. Worth the battery drain either way.
2/3 Tech Demo, 1/3 Game The audio and visual presentation are excellent. As a game, it feels surprisingly shallow. You mostly walk through a beautiful world, solving a handful of simple, occasionally odd puzzles. That's about it. Reviewers who praise the game design never played a game before, obviously. The combat: It's so bad that it almost deserves to be experienced firsthand. I played on the easiest difficulty and still died repeatedly—not because it was challenging, but because the character often felt unresponsive. At times, it seemed like my inputs barely mattered. Turn off your monitor and unplug your controller, and you might not perform much worse. I uninstalled it. For me, it was a waste of time, money, and disk space. Ironically, the best part of this "game" is its trailer. Removed Hellblade 2 from my wishlist.
The game is a metaphor for grief, and uses this as an excuse to hide behind for every single bad choice it makes. The story is very patchy and never fully commits to being a norse myth questline or a grief symbolization. Puzzles are straight up horrible, tiring, and bothersome. Combat is extremely limited and repetitive. Overall it's unbelievably pretentious. Sound and visual design is great tho
I can't really think of anything that you could improve about this game. It's a dense 8 hour experience with a fantastic story, well-designed gameplay, gorgeous visuals, and haunting music. Also a huge leap forward for the industry in sound design. Hellblade is a perfect game.
