This game should be banned in the EU. The developers intentionally mislead players regarding the odds of gacha pulls. For instance, the game states "Average Draw Probabilities: Special Treasure: 10,6%," yet if you follow a small link at the bottom to the game's website, you can see that this 10,6% is actually an aggregate probability that includes the guaranteed 100% chance on the final pull. In other words, for the vast majority of pulls, you have a 0,11% chance of obtaining the item in question. I love this game in many ways, but now that I’ve realized this, I simply cannot support the developers any longer.
As you can see by the hours I spent on this game, I enjoyed it at first. I played on the mobile app at first, so the hours on here are only a portion of my play time. It was really enjoyable, adorable, and it kept my attention. I wasn't a fan of the predatory gacha mechanics, and I would have preferred to buy the game fully, but I can forgive it- they are not the only company to take advantage of that lucrative model. Here's what ruined it for me: 1. In the beginning, there was no disclosure of their use of generative AI. This would have effected my decision to play this game from the start. I believe they knew that many others would feel the same, so they chose to keep it hidden. 2. They had one of their few POC character act like a monkey. That put a bad taste in my mouth. I do not respect game developers that choose to cut corners with generative AI. This is my primary reason for abandoning this game.

The game itself is fine, it checks off a lot of things that I want to do in a MMO. The generative AI leaves a bad taste in my mouth but I figured I would be okay as long as I don't spend money. But the gatcha system is extremely predatory, and the fact that some basic building material is locked behind a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ battle pass is ridiculous. I am sick of battlepasses. Theres also a bunch of QoL issues mainly the game not having real PC controls. You can very much tell this was a mobile game they "ported" to PC. I gave the game a try but I'm over it
I liked this game. It is cozy, it let me be creative with building, and it is very cute. However, the use of generative AI is something that I just cannot support, and the fact that it was not disclosed from the beginning makes it even worse. Please do not support the use of Generative AI. It steals work from other artists, it is bad for the environment and it results in fewer opportunities for the artists themselves. There is nothing good about it, and the use of it for commercial products should not be allowed.

Incredibly cute game, but the monetization is some of the worst I've seen. I was immediately drawn in by the adorable art style and really wanted one of the premium building sets. Unfortunately, you don't simply buy the set—you have to gamble for the pieces. While you're eventually guaranteed to receive every item. I fell into the classic sunk-cost trap. After spending some money, I thought, "I've already invested this much—I might as well finish it." By the time I finally completed the collection, I had spent more than $100 on what is essentially one furniture set. It gets worse. You only receive one of each furniture item. One couch. One bed. One shelf. One table. Once you've placed those pieces, that's it. You can't decorate multiple rooms or use matching furniture throughout your house. The items aren't tradable, so I don't understand why there are such strict limits. If I've spent over $100 on a furniture collection, I should be able to use those items as much as I want. I was so frustrated that I uninstalled the game and swore I was done. Then, months later, they added one of my favorite IPs: Sanrio. I convinced myself that maybe I had exaggerated how bad the monetization really was. I logged back in, fell in love with the My Melody cosmetics, and decided to buy one outfit. That single outfit ended up costing me $30. Thirty dollars. For one cosmetic outfit. I can buy an entire game—or several excellent games on sale—for that amount. I'm not against microtransactions. I actually like supporting games I enjoy. But there's a huge difference between reasonable cosmetic purchases and pricing that feels intentionally designed to exploit players who love collecting cute items. For comparison, this game's building sets are similar in size to a Sims Kit. A Sims Kit costs around $5, includes a comparable number of items, and once you own it, you can place those items as many times as you want. Here, you're spending twenty times as much for a single set, receiving only one copy of each item, and the game does an excellent job of obscuring how much you'll actually spend before completing the collection. Yes, you can absolutely play this game without spending money. But nearly all of the premium, high-quality cosmetic content is locked behind an incredibly expensive gacha system that makes the true cost difficult to recognize until you're already invested. The game itself is charming. The monetization is not. I genuinely wanted to support the developers, but these prices crossed the line from "supporting a game" into feeling predatory. Shame on me for falling for the cute art style. Shame on the developers for pricing it this way.
Ai in a gacha game is extra pathetic. Just admit u suck ass.
I would really like to recommend this game, because I really enjoy playing it. It's cozy, relaxing and you can be very creative even as a ftp player. BUT.. the target audience is pretty obvious more younger players and the Devs are just so money hungry, it's ridiculously blatant how they try to lure people into spending hundreds of Dollars for items. Especially with knowing that they target younger people, it makes it even more disgusting. Yes, you don't have to spend any money and it's a ftp game. Yes, you can enjoy this game without spending any money, especially if you don't aim for the big, big crazy items. And YES, I know as a ftp game you have to get some kind of money somehow. But having to spend more than 150$ on an Event to receive more benefits and Event Tickets.. they give you a specific amount for free but you have to roll more than 10 times and the amount of Tickets increases drastically after every roll.. Dude.. It's one thing to make people buy a full game and you can play the game to get rewards, but it's another thing to make a high potential ftp game and don't even try to hide your money greed and hide EVERY cool item behind a paywall. I know no one is forcing you into buying anything, but they play a lot with the feeling of people could miss out on something and young people struggle with that even more. New Events are highly positively announced, you can get so many cool things by just playing the game with your friends, until you realize after 5 minutes, that you have to spend at least 50$ to receive two other sets if you already spend your freebies on one set. But hey, if you get all three of the new Sanrio Characters Cars you'll get even more Event Tickets FOR FREE! How to achieve that? Give us at least 100$, but if you're lucky you'll get every Car first pull. *-* All in all it's a cute game, with a lot of potential and a mostly nice Community, but the greed of the Devs destroys everything and I would never recommend this Game to anyone. If there would be a one time purchase and you could here and there spend a little bit more to get some kind of benefits, sure. But this greed is just obnoxious.
My account suddenly logged out after two weeks of not playing because I was busy with work, and now I can’t access it anymore. I’ve already tried logging in through the other accounts that were previously linked to my Heartopia account, but it keeps making me create a new account and character instead of loading my original one. This is really frustrating because I’ve spent money on the game, and all the progress, items, and things I worked hard to build are now gone.
