Hazelnut Hex

One of my favorite OSTs of all time, and considering that there are on-screen events that occasionally coincide with the music, it feels at times like a playable album. Great art style, charming character interactions, and if you're looking for a challenging but not intensely difficult shmup to tackle, I can strongly recommend this one.

Fun straightforward shmup with a surprising amount of character in the art. Took 5 credits first time (2 in the final stage), gonna try and get it to 1 or 2 but the last couple bosses have a lot going on, and it's a little hard to parse your hurtbox at that point. It stands out, it doesn't waste your time, and it's fun. The bat enemies don't stand out enough, and the icicles that launch at you also seem like background objects until they kill you, but that's a first playthrough problem. Steam input dpad emulation doesn't work for some reason, and i'm kind of bad on just dpad, but that's a very me thing.
