I finally finished career mode in this game. I was going to do a hardcore run but I kept getting smushed in weird ways. This game is a meditative take on labor and creative destruction. I wouldn't call it too difficult by the time you have mastered it. Maybe assessing and completing all tasks most quickly is still a challenge. But I think of it rather as a chill time with you, the laser, and the gravity gun. I like it a lot and I might return to it once in a while to take apart a ship in orbit. The controls for 3D navigation work well and are well motivated in the story. As is your potential comfort or discomfort with disorientation. Personally I think it's more fun to websling around with your gravity gun though.
I deeply enjoyed the story and the game all the way through, and you will too cutter!

Bought this on a whim a while ago on sale and decided yesterday to give it a go on the SteamDeck. No changes to settings needed. I think I’ve found my turn off brain game, it’s so peaceful and really enjoyable loop of cutting up scrap spaceships. Even though I’m only a few hours into it I’m sure more mechanics get added as you level up and rewards too. You can scrap anything from panels to single light fixtures on the ship. If you dump the wrong thing into the furnace or processor then you obviously lose credit you could’ve earned if scrapped properly. You also need to watch your o2, thrusters etc if low you head to the hab and buy the things you need. You repair stuff inside the hab. Highly recommend to dads and mums out there as you can easily pick up and put down but you can only save the game in your hub which is close by.
Top 5 all time game. Therapeutic in its loop but also intricate and complex in its systems. Really fun.
