---{ Graphics }--- ☐ You forget what reality is ☐ Masterpiece ☐ Beautiful ☐ An original artistic direction ☐ Good ☐ Decent ☑ normal ☐ Bad ☐ Don‘t look too long at it ☑ MS-DOS + the game is stylized into the 90s graphics (which it does pretty well), so don't expect too much detail, but it is playable on higher resolutions than games at the time ---{ Gameplay }--- ☐ Won’t ever touch any other game anymore ☐ Very good ☐ Good ☑ It's just gameplay ☐ Mehh ☐ Tic Tac toe is better ☐ Watch paint dry instead ☐ Just don't + there are some puzzles to solve throughout the game, but personally would appreciate if they were a bit harder even + the spellcasting mechanic is made pretty well, though it can get a bit annoying later in the game to always recast some spell + out of all locations, I think the last one has the most interesting puzzles +- the Wand of the Wizard King is a pretty nice item to have, but would be nice if instead of the most recently used spell, it'd add some hotbar where you could set different spells for quick-cast ---{ Replayability }--- ☑ A one-time experience ☐ For achievements ☑ If you wait a few months/years (or with mods) ☐ Definitely ☐ Infinitely replayable (or almost) +- there are some choices you can make, and will probably have to replay it for some achievement(s) since some are slightly bugged currently, but there's only one ending so it's either a one-time thing or once every few months/years for most people ---{ Audio }--- ☐ Eargasm ☐ Very good ☐ Good ☐ Not too bad ☐ Bad ☐ I'm now deaf + the audio is stylized into 90s quality as well, so be ready for some crispy sounds (which is something I personally don't mind) ---{ Music }--- ☐ Just filling noises/No music ☐ Trivial and uneventful ☐ Decent Soundtrack ☑ Good and/or fitting the game's artistic dispositions ☐ Memorable ☐ Transcending whispers of a forgotten world + the music overall is pretty fitting (though maybe a bit "too HQ" for the theme), but mainly the main theme is quite memorable ---{ Audience }--- ☑ Kids ☑ Teens ☑ Adults ☑ Grandma + except for blood fountains and some dark fantasy themes, basically anyone should be able to play it. The puzzles nor the combat itself aren't that hard either ---{ PC Requirements }--- ☑ Check if you can run paint ☐ Potato ☐ Decent ☐ Fast ☐ Rich boi ☐ Ask NASA if they have a spare computer + pretty low system requirments, should be able o play it on basically any PC (also the game is intentionally locked at 25 FPS) ---{ Game Size }--- ☐ Floppy Disk ☑ Old Fashioned ☐ Workable ☐ Big ☐ Will eat 10% of your 1TB hard drive ☐ You will want an enitre hard drive to hold it +- the game takes 11.32gb - probably higher than most people would expect, but it makes sense since basically all cutscenes are FMVs ---{ Difficulty }--- ☐ My 90 year old grandma could play it ☐ Just press 'W' ☑ Easy ☐ Medium ☐ Hard ☐ Easy to learn / Hard to master ☐ Significant brain usage ☐ Difficult ☐ Dark Souls + the controls, combat and puzzles are all pretty easy ---{ Grind }--- ☑ Nothing to grind ☐ Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks ☐ Required for achievement hunting ☐ Isn't necessary to progress ☐ Average grind level ☐ Too much grind ☐ You'll need a second live for grinding + nothing to grind ---{ Story }--- ☐ No Story ☑ Some lore ☐ It's there for people who want it ☐ Bizarre ☐ Average ☐ Well written ☑ Good ☐ Very Good ☐ Leading to more in-depth researches/thoughts ☐ Lovely ☐ It'll replace your life +- there is some lore behind the game, and I think it's quite interesting, but it can try being really serious one time, and then right after it's not serious at all (noticable especially if you're reading lore pages or when talking to NPCs) ---{ Game Time }--- ☐ Long enough for a cup of coffee ☑ Short ☐ Average ☐ Long ☐ I have to ask my boss for vacation time ☐ To infinity and beyond + depending on playstyle, the game could take between 4-8 hours. Possibly more if you're trying to get all achievements (or just trying to find lore pages 15 and 20 like me) ---{ Price }--- ☐ It's free! ☑ Worth the price ☑ If it's on sale ☐ If u have some spare money left ☐ Not recommended ☐ You could also just burn your money + 9.75€ seems like a pretty reasonable price (or less on sale) ---{ Worth Buying }--- ☐ No ☑ If you have nothing else to play ☐ Wait for sale ☑ Yes ☐ You should have had it long ago + if you like dungeon crawlers and/or retro stylized games then yes ---{ Bugs }--- ☐ Never heard of ☑ Minor bugs ☑ Can get annoying ☐ ARK: Survival Evolved ☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs ☐ Hollow Knight + update 1.4 basically fixed all the bugs I've experienced (not sure about the one below since I'd have to replay most of the game to get to it) - towards the end of the game,
when your hand is cut off and you're supposed to get healed after learning the Monster form, I though I got softlocked because I couldn't tranform because the room (ceiling) was "too small".
Thought I had to start over but reload worked. There seem to be few other "bugs" similar to this. - not sure if it's a bug but it seems like bosses respawn. You don't have to fight them again, but it seems a bit unusual ---{ 8.5 / 10 }--- ☐ 1 ☐ 2 ☐ 3 ☐ 4 ☐ 5 ☐ 6 ☐ 7 ☐ 8 ☑ 8.5 ☐ 9 ☐ 10 ☐̶͎̪̽̀ ̶̣͖̓̾̀͝ͅͅ1̴̪̈́͆ͅ1̵̳͍̭͋?̵̥̗̺̊̈́͑́ Overall pretty nice retro-stylized dungeone crawler. Personally some parts reminded me a lot of Legend of Grimrock, the spells/spellcasting was probably the most interesting part for me

The wizard in black reveals the sign 🧙 The chosen are ready, destiny realigns 🔥 Eye of ultra soul, together we join 👁️ Alone again, one again, into the void. 🌌
I could sadly not bring myself to finish HAND OF DOOM, even though this game has everything I should like, it fumbles and slows down heavily during the second area, in the elemental dimensions, in which you wander around aimlessly looking for keys, find a key, go to a new plane, repeat the process, this is fine up to a point, but then you start having to explore areas you couldn't before but can now with new spells, which sounds cool, but you have no idea where these areas are, leading you to walk randomly around the map VERY SLOWLY trying to find something you hope is there Combine this with the illusion of choice, you can do different paths in this game but it doesn't actually do anything you get the same outcome (And ending!) regardless, and the game goes from good to bad very fast :(
Fantastic and hilarious game.
It is broken, no joke. I ran into 3 glaring bugs in my run. One was an optional objective so I could ignore it, one fixed itself after restarting, and one could have softlocked me if there wasn't a workaround on the forum. Just exiting the game during a quest could break it. But I still have to give it a positive rating - just because it has so much charming style and the gameplay is actually pretty cool. If you can deal with the blurry pixels, bizarre controls, and potential game breaking bugs, then it's still enjoyable for the whole garage band indie feeling and fun ideas.
I would not recommend this. I bought this because the art style looked cool, and it is, but this unfortunately wasn’t enough to keep me interested. The gameplay involves walking from one location to the next and talking to characters in order to learn where to go next and learning new spells to unlock access to new areas. While some of the NPC dialogue is pretty funny and the spell animations are pretty cool, the gameplay itself bored me quite quickly. Combat is pretty much clicking “use” on your weapon or casting a spell while close enough to the enemy, then backing up when they swing at you. This, figuring out which spell to use to access a new areas, along with walking and talking to NPCs is pretty much the whole game as far as I can tell. It involves a lot of backtracking and using new spells to access areas previously inaccessible, which really wore me out and ate up a few hours during which I found myself bored. Nice job to the creator on making something unique and visually appealing, but due to the gameplay itself I wouldn’t recommend this other than maybe if you are curious to see the art style and laugh at the writing. Music is well done also.
Softlocked my save. I can't do any damage to one of the later bosses. It looks like there was some sort of sword I was supposed to pick up at some point, seeing as how I'm missing the achievement for finding it. I'm now stuck in this boss fight with no way to beat it. Unfortunate, because I was enjoying my time with the game. [strike] An incredibly charming and hilarious fantasy adventure game. My only gripe is that the voice actors talk way too slowly. [/strike]
honestly, not really a fun game. the concept and atmosphere is immaculate though. wish there was a mixed option
The vibes are immaculate
