A fun pre-doom shooter
itz got gunz
NANI?"

This game is truly fantastic
10 "Im Gun Godz"
Gone shooting
I've been gradually developing a taste for games that go straight to the point, don't greet you with 30 seconds of ads for various technologies and 3D engines at launch, and don't hog 1/10th of the SSD dedicated to my Steam library. There are plenty of those on Steam: Gun Godz is one of them. Deep as the lyrics of Sean Paul's greatest hits, this first-person shooter, bastard heir of Wolfenstein 3D from a technical standpoint, isn't trying to reinvent the wheel. No need to, anyway, since it rolls along just fine. Its Steam's description reads: "try to escape the jail of a hotel, which is the only building on Venus and is owned by a record-label owner who happens to be the God of Guns." As you might guess, the plot wasn't exactly in the running for the Game Awards, but who cares. Four weapons, sixteen levels including four bonus ones, enemies ranging from basic grunts to heavy-weapons experts: I'd have a hard time selling you on the originality of the concept, but again, it rolls along just fine. The gameplay is responsive, the levels short and clear-cut, with a few secrets scattered here and there, and you even get a couple of bosses along the way. Beating it in a straight run takes about 45 minutes. If you're aiming for 100%, count on 1h30 to 2h00 depending on your skill level, but the challenge isn't unpleasant to chase given how short the game is. I've played paid games far less enjoyable than this one, so from where I stand, it does the job just fine. One last point though: there are good reasons why most id Software games and other nervy 90s shmups had a Metal-flavored soundtrack. Gun Godz attempts a reverse Uno here, and honestly ends up demonstrating pretty well why gangsta rap was never the most popular genre among gamers back in the day. We'll forgive it, but just this time.
Excelent free boomer shooter, with great oldschool map layouts and well designed enemies. The game is well balanced, fast paced and plays greaqt with a controller.
