About

Updated as of March 9th, 2026
The Game Formally Known As 'Get To The Orange Door' was in development for eight and a half years...
It received many updates over that time, evolving into a much larger and more ambitious project. Eighteen months ago, we set out to fully capture the core essence of ALL the past versions into one, final game. With the support of our community, we have been working tirelessly to accomplish this task. While we're not ready to unveil everything yet, we wanted to be perfectly clear with anyone reading our Steam page as to the current state of GTTOD:

The screenshots, trailers, and promotional images below represent what is currently available on Steam; NOT what will be available in upcoming playtests, betas, or the full release of GTTOD. If you have any questions regarding update progress, regular updates are posted here on Steam and in the Discord server.
Below is the unedited store page for 'Get To The Orange Door':

GTTOD is a fast paced FPS rogue-like with a heavy focus on fluidity of movement and high octane combat. Casting its net of inspirations wide, GTTOD captures both the feel of modern day movement shooters as well as the chaotic intensity of the best FPS games in the '90s.
As one of the power-armor clad survivors in The Shatter, you'll be using your advanced mobility and a myriad of reclaimed firearms and equipment to outmaneuver and outgun the armies of a planet-destroying threat; The World Sentinel.
You are not alone. As a child of Earth, you are able to inherit the abilities bestowed upon you by The Spirit Of The World, and use them to destroy those that threaten her safety.
Permanently improve your skills and abilities, allowing you to endure the unending trials of The Shatter. Lengthen your treks into the unforgiving world, and reap the rewards of your conquest.
Explore, loot, and gear up for your ascension towards the upmost peak of The Shatter; "The Summit".
Death is not the end. Each new run of GTTOD shifts destinations and routes on your journey to The Summit. No playthrough is ever the same.

Reviews
1. Randomly generated levels are boring 2. Balance is ♥♥♥♥ 3. Gunplay is uninspired and unpolished 4. "Note: The last update made by the developers was over 13 months ago. The information and timeline described by the developers here may no longer be up to date." - Possible abandonware. Hard reject. Skip.
1.0 beta is not good. trying to make something the game into something it's not with all the story ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and cutscenes, and neutered the movement. unfortunate

gets stale pretty quick, and has annoying tutorial popups. memorable, but doesnt really stick otherwise.
Music is absolutely amazing, gameplay is great. Lots of guns and percs, Titanfall on drugs but with CoD zombies and as a rougelike. Could be more bosses and maps but those are coming afaik.
i get its early access, but there just isn't enough here to make me want to play it anymore than i have already. the damage indicators in this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suck, i dont even know what im getting hit by half the time. mid-air movement feels weird, hard to control, like its designed to have you move forwards and forwards only but you'll need to turn around alot of the time so im never really able to use it in my favour, and alot of the time i end up doing unwanted movement stuff just by trying to walk around normally without any added input from my end. maybe that just takes some getting used to. you're supposed to get keys to open bunkers, but depending on your luck a bunker can be anything from decent to an actual detriment that poisons your run, and theres no way to back out of a prompt once you've engaged it. i feel discouraged from spending my shards, because it seems like alot of the items don't do anything of note. i tried upgrading my shotgun, but apart from gaining a sight (which you can't even use, nor would it be helpful to use that on a shotgun) im not really sure what that does, or why you would want to spend 750 shards on that. shards are also particularly annoying to acquire, the vehicles you get them from dont give very much each even though every chest requires hundreds or even thousands of them each just to open in reward for something you probably wont even want. the enemies seem weird, like they dont have much individual personality, everything is coloured depending on its purpose so its hard to tell at a glance which enemy is which. they all just blend in with eachother to make one big orange heap. i also got a "karma" that's supposed to give you allies when enemies are present, i thought this would turn the game into a monster-war-sim of sorts but it only gives you one ally every sometimes and they never really seem to help out. i've only ever gotten a shade or a nest as an ally, but one sits still and gets bodied by the horde instantly while the other runs around doing literally nothing of value. i didnt even know they were my allies at first, and killed most of them with friendly fire, accidental or not. i picked that karma over a melee booster, and spent the whole run regretting it. overall, the whole game can be really confusing to new players, some options are simply far better than others in every given scenario which discourages interesting decision making, and there isn't enough stimulation provided while fighting to motivate doing cool things. just play ultrakill instead, honestly.
poo poo game
Bought on sale. Pretty good value for an EA experience. Movement and shooting reminds me of Titanfall which is great. I think the game is worth investing.
This dude is committed to making the best game possible. Check out his very well-written and introspective final announcement. I've played this off and on for the past 5 years, I look forward to 1.0.
Development has been immobile for years, with no end in sight. Game is unfinished.
its the perfect mix of ultrakill combat, titanfall movement DOOM with original ideas sprinkled in and I LOVE IT! I love roguelikes but its always frustrating when they make you go in circles contantly, this game is perfect in how it doesnt feel like im replaying the same area over and over, each time i find something new!
