About
Grimhold is the last fortress standing between the living world and everything that wants to end it. Wave after wave, the dark throws its legions at your wall — goblins, undead, dragons, demons, and worse — and only your heroes stand in the way. Build your line, master each hero's powers, chain devastating synergies, and push deeper into five acts of escalating siege. You will fall. And when you do, you'll rise stronger, unlock new champions, and try again — because in Grimhold, every defeat is the start of a better run.
The dark does not negotiate. It comes in waves — each larger, faster, and crueler than the last — and Grimhold's wall is all that stands against it. Place your heroes with intent, read the battlefield, and turn back the tide before it reaches the gate. Five acts, each with its own horde and its own boss, escalate from goblin raids to the end of the world itself. Every wave you survive brings the next one closer. Every wall you hold is one the dark has to break again.
From the fire-mage Krash to the merciless executioner Zylvara to Malachar himself, Grimhold gives you 21 distinct heroes — each with their own class, abilities, and role in the line. Unlock them through conquest by meeting brutal challenges, then shape them with a 211-node skill tree, relics, and forge-crafted gear. No two defenders play alike, and no two runs demand the same team. The right hero in the right place turns a losing wall into an unbreakable one.
Heroes are stronger together. With 33 synergies to discover, the way you build your line matters as much as who's in it — stack the right champions and watch a modest defense erupt into a machine that shreds entire waves before they land a hit. Draft, experiment, and find the combinations that break the game in your favor. The dark adapts. So must you.
Grimhold is a roguelike to its core: you will lose runs, and that's the point. Every defeat feeds a permanent account that unlocks heroes, relics, and mastery. Forge new gear between attempts, bank essence toward lasting power, and return to the wall sharper than before. The siege resets — you don't. Progress is never erased, only earned.
Play the way you want to be tested:
Normal — the full campaign across all acts, the intended Grimhold experience.
Hard — a punishing rebalance for defenders who've mastered the wall.
Infernal — the ultimate difficulty, where only the sharpest builds survive.
Endless — no final wave, no mercy. How deep can you hold before the dark drags you under?
With 75 achievements, a bestiary of 83 catalogued foes, weekly challenges, and a battle pass of unlockables, there is always one more wall to hold — and one more reason to return.
