This game is quite an adventure and I enjoyed every minute! Ultimate Adventure with a few very enjoyable minigames - and very interactive, no HO scenes, no sparkles and there are no hint or skip buttons...you’re on your own. Graphics is nothing special, but the background music is nice and always adequate to the surrounding environment. It gave the game a pleasant atmosphere. The ending will make you wonder and consider the possibilities…why green moon? It is an enjoyable game and a nice change from the HO, I would recommend it to anyone
!!!! SOLUTION TO GAMEPLAY PROBLEMS !!!! First of all: totaly worth the money if you can buy it in a sale and like old style point&click adventure games. Strange plot but nice scenery and totaly playable if you know the quirks of the gameplay. First of all I had issues with launch and then with not being able to put items in inventory or combine certain items that should be combined, but the trick (for me) was to download the game, then completely exit Steam. Start Steam again and from within the library choose Green Moon and press play. The inventory problem was solved by not clicking the item and then clicking it on the empty spot of the inventory list (as described in the tutorial) but actually dragging them from the scenery onto an empty inventory-list-spot. The combining items was more tricky since it's a bit random. Sometimes you can just click one item in your inventory onto the other to combine and sometimes it only works when one item is in the inventory and the other is dragged onto it from the scenery (this for instance was the case with the pestle&mortar in the basement wich is used to ground coffee and red pepper but also for the steel cutter and copper wire from the garden and some others). Two real glitches for me whilst playing: trying to light a match in both the pyramid and the Maya cave as well as using the magic chalk in the Maya cave halted the game completely so I had to close the game and restart (thank got for save games). And be sure to save regularly since you can die at several points and the autosave works on completing a task as well as when exiting the game through the menu but there are many points in the game you want to save before continuing.

This game is a masterpiece, and the negative reviews on here honestly make me sad because the majority of them are due to false expectations. Despite what users have tagged, and despite the store page’s description, THIS IS IN NO WAY A HIDDEN OBJECT GAME. If you are anticipating a Big Fish or Artifex Mundi style hand-holding casual experience with clear linear progression, hints, maps, sparkles, and hidden object screens, you are not going to find ANY of that here. Move on now because that’s simply not what this is at all. This is an item-driven puzzle adventure game where is it up to the player to discover the clues that progress the story, and to figure out how to use everything that isn’t nailed down to overcome challenges. It relies on you bringing your intuition and your sense of exploration to the table, and being willing to faff around until you finally have another satisfying “Aha!” moment. Along the way there are a few action mini-games to play, but the main focus is always on utilizing and curating your inventory as you unlock new portals and wander freely through time and space. It is beyond frustrating to me how poorly the game is being marketed on here, and how the videos and stills do not reflect the actual core gameplay. People should know what type of product they are buying, and the true target audience this game should be connecting with is old school point-and-click adventure players, as well as anyone who played text parsers and abused the “take” command. Marketing the game to the general HOG demographic did it an additional disservice by inaccurately inflating the data for difficulty and length. The store page’s claim of 50 hours only makes sense if it includes excessive built-in estimates for getting stuck and lost. While the game is indeed a decent challenge, there is no way on god’s green moon anyone, aside from maybe young children, would even approach 15 hours of gameplay let alone 50. I finished the whole thing in less than 6; almost every puzzle solution is intuitive if you remember what materials you have at your disposal and where they are located. I personally fell in love with the world and mechanics of Green Moon. As someone in my 30’s, it resonates deeply with the types of games I played in my youth, and captures that same sense of joy, wonder, and personal accomplishment that comes with real authentic puzzle solving. Perhaps that is why I had no problems with the graphics and sound quality - the aesthetics match the feel of classic early aughts adventure games, so the styling comes across as both nostalgic and entirely appropriate to the gameplay. The only problem I had with the game itself was a minor glitch where the very last animation in the ending didn’t load properly, but I had no trouble whatsoever with the functionality of the rest of the game. Honestly, if you are a fan of point-and-click exploration freed from rails and corralling, if you appreciate the challenge of needing to take stock of every single object around you and suss out what will be useful when, if you enjoy figuring out puzzles for yourself with minimal guidance, and if you like quirky and surreal locations and plotlines, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to check out this title and give it a fair chance. At $7 it is well worth the investment.
Sweet little gem of a game. I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did, given the reviews and clearly questionable graphic quality. I had fun, there were glaring problems but not ones that potentially ruined my enjoyment for this game. That being said, this isn't a hidden object game as we all know it; it's more or less a puzzle game with adventure elements. It was relaxing to make potions in the first 3-4 tasks but then it suddenly got very heavy. I feel that the moon sequences weren't quite my cup of tea since it involved navigating maps (and with a timer). The limited inventory was meant to be a challenge but it winded up being more cluttered and irritating on occasion. The last few bits of tasks were fun to do too. The minigames weren't anything to write home about but I had no problem with them either. The biggest flaw though, is likely the lack of clarity. You will find yourself lost at what to do without seeking a guide after task 4 or 5 or 6, I forget. Honestly, I had to grab a walkthrough especially during one part involving cooking. The minigames always require an in-game guide you MUST bring lest you can't 'solve' the minigame. Without a guide for it, you will lose a lot of time. Another flaw is dead ends, you can die from random things in this game, so it is recommended you save often to avoid this and of course, in likelihood of the game bugging out. Personally, I've had zero inventory glitches in my playthrough save for a couple things returning to their original spots, which was more a mild bother than anything else. Overall, not bad. I'd say it's worth giving a try if you had it from a bundle.
