Golfinite

This is a game to really relax to. At least at first. Get better and try the harder courses. Losing doesn't amount to anything except having to try again. It's a really good game, and that's even BEFORE you take the various spins to the ball, and the special balls that can be sold in the game.......

TLDR: This is my favorite golf game!!! Way better than any AAA golf game out there, and as far as wii golf is concerned... we what?! idk. Golfinite forever! (or not, i guess that's in the title..)

I've got a lot of little frustrations with this game, but putting them aside, I still had a decent time with it and would recommend it. I think it's worth it, and for everything I didn't like, they incorporated something that counteracts it in a way. The biggest complaint I have with it is how aggressively the ball pops out of the hole when you overshoot it. If you've ever played golf, you'll know that if you attempt a 2-yard putt and overshoot it, it'll just pop out a bit and be within an understandable distance. In this game, if you overshoot it by any amount, it will pop out like there's a spring in the hole and fly 15 yards away. Same goes for if you hit the flag - it'll just ricochet yards away. This problem is compounded by how the "orange distance" tracker works, if it makes any sense at all. If you're in the short game, the game will sometimes automatically adjust your shot to be perfectly the same distance that you need, providing you an orange ticker that tells you the distance it'll be. It's very helpful, as long as you're completely in the mindset of what it means compared to the logic of the game as a whole. You'll be given a shorter length of shot and the orange ticker's distance, which is contradictory to the whole game - your length of shot is always to the end of the power bar. So sometimes, you'll see that and think, "is this to the orange, or to the end?" and it's not always consistent. Sometimes it's to the orange, sometimes it's to the end. You just have to understand what 11 yards is in the game. The hazards are also somewhat irritating, and odd how the second level has a 'worse' hazard (scorpions that destroy your ball) than the third level (blue jays that push it along). But that being said, that's just a small little niggling issue that's solvable by being better at the game. That all being said, it's still fun and I still enjoyed it's little upgrade system. Not particularly deep, but certainly deeper than most golf games that don't even provide one. K

This is a great homage to golf games from the 16 bit era. Each hole is procedurally generated to keep things fresh. The mechanics are tight and there's actually some features to help you level up as well. If you're in the mood for a classic arcade style golfing game, this is definitely the game to get!
