Of my 70+ Vive games, this is my second favorite, next only to Smashbox Arena. I have always loved flying games, especially gliding ones, but this one makes you feel like you're actually on the mountain! The complaint of 2 of the 3 negative reviews was that the movement was controlled by the head. This was changed months ago, and you now control it by moving your hands, just like on a real hang glider. This is more natural, and lets you look around at the scenery. Several of my friends and family and tried it, and they have all enjoyed it. The graphics are clean and polished, and it's well worth the $10. I'll never forget the first time I stepped off the ramp at the top of Glider Island and dove down the mountain. It was such a rush! Most or all of the other glider-like flying VR games are arcade style, and just move you at a constant speed. This one feels like the real thing.
Finally, a very playable and fun version! I had previously purchased and refunded the game twice, because of poor controls making the game unplayable and frustrating. This recent update, with the extremely fun and easy head control, makes the hang gliding experience both realistic and enjoyable as well. I played for over two hours straight without crashing, and stopped just to write this review to congratulate the developers for making a great game. I would pay the full price willingly, and with the discount, it's a no brainer to purchase this gem. I hope there will be more maps (even as dlc) in future, because this hang gliding experience, in VR, is almost as good as the real thing, without crashing and breaking bones! A strong buy recommendation!

1st Impressions Video with Commentary // Oculus Rift + Touch // GTX 1060 (6GB): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NmvCVbo6cw My Quick Thoughts: A cool relaxing experience, if you are new to VR and looking for something to try that gives you the sensation of flight and height, give this a try.
My father was an avid hang glider and made me buy this. Even though it's not a simulator, game is fun and put a smile on his face. Had some fun myself, the hand controllers setup is intuitive and enjoyable. Better than expected.
I just tried this out for half price. I would say 5$ is much more reasonable. Its a relaxing experience none the less. Enjoyable to fly around and collect hoops. Although I wish there was more to the gameplay. The Vive hand controller method was a little tricky at first. But fun. I actually enjoyed the head controls more... Its easier and more relaxing. I am interested in seeing the newer version, Overall I feel this developer has potential.
One of my favorite vr games I've played so far... no motion sickeness at all, very good graphics. For $8, absolutely worth it. Edit: I don't know what update changed the flying mechanics (with no way to toggle back to the old mode), but this game totally sucks now. I used to have a great time doing barrel rolls and just generally enjoying flying around and now you can't even tilt your glider to the left and right... totally boring now. I would not recommend anyone buy this game at this point in time NOTE: Dev said they are pushing update to address this at the beginning of February, after the flight mode is addressed this game is still 10/10 for the price.
This is a great game. If you want something that's a nice relaxing flight, this is your game. There is a time limit on each island, but they all seem like plenty of time, once you get to know where all the "courses" are. There aren't any real "courses". Simply trails of hoops to fly through. It's up to you how you navigate. It does become a challenge to fly through a row of hoops when a storm or vocano blows your way. But those are spaced-out enough that it's very enjoyable.
In short, this is a proper little gem for VR! It's not a huge game but what it does, it does well, which is taking you for a flight around some pretty islands at a pace of your choosing, whether you just want to glide around and relax or rush like a madman for the high score! This is one of those super simple titles that you can learn quickly and take turns on with your buddies, meaning it's a great option for VR cafes/arcades. At less than £6, or just a tiddle under tree-fiddy on offer, you really can't go wrong! Honestly, the ONLY thing wrong with this title is the lack of players - there's a competitive element to the game with a prize pool, but sadly there just isn't much competition :( If you have a VR headset you absolutely should get this, even if you're only gonna demo it to your mates because it's a fun, colourful experience which is easy to pick up at a moments' notice. P.S. The developer is working on a glider simulator (as opposed to an arcade title), which is available to play as a beta through this game :)
I got it on sale and it's ok for the price but theres some really questionable gameplay decisions... the time limit - it adds nothing except making it hard to complete the levels - much better idea would be remove it or have each hoop you go through add 1-2 seconds to your time - this would make close calls happen more - ie. you only have 30 seconds left to get 10 hoops but if you get 5 hoops that might give you the 5-10 seconds you need to get the last 5. As it stands once you're down to the least 30 seconds you pretty much know whether or not you can finish the level so it all seems a bit futile. Easy fix and as other reviews have said its currently kinda frustrating to finish levels - auto-unlocking the levels doesnt solve the frustration all that does is make people feel like they're being babied. The weather event is ok but I think it shoulkd trigger once you hit 100 rings instead of automatically every few minutes. My main issue with the weather event is the music is mediocre during the weather event. Tries to be dramatic and foreboding but it sounds like 8 bit synthesizer which just doesnt have a dramatic imact lol. I'd also like a free roam mode - no weather, no time limit, just clear skies. Plus an infinite boost mode would be cool to unlock... these should all be easy to implement if the devs still care At its current state I can only recommend it on sale and even then it has some gameplay issues that need fixing imo
I like this game, I wasn't sure about it but I gave it a chance. The flying mechanics were fun to use and worked well (I used the touch hand controls). If you like flying through rings in Ultrawings you will like it here too, just don't expect any other game modes like in Ultrawings, there is only one. But there are three different islands with some optional objectives (catching random birds) and there are events (like a thunderstorm) that happen every so often. It's kinda like Mario Kart where different events happen on each lap, but only one here that happens multiple times per play through. I have to say the more I play this game the more I like it, the game is not easy but not terribly difficult either. I would suggest anyone interested to give it a chance it's a fun game with leader boards that keep you invested.
