GAMEPLAY
- Operate the giant robot: Direct movement via a top-down tactical interface.
- Target subsystems: Isolate and destroy specific enemy components. Immobilize, disarm, disable electronics.
- Exploit environments: Use terrain elevation for ballistic advantage and cover. Enter woods for concealment, or water for cooling.
- Level the battlefield: Breach destructible structures. Ignite wildfires. Deploy dirty explosives to create nuclear fallout fields.
- Be stealthy: Deploy smoke cover. Exploit strict line-of-sight simulation to flank hostiles undetected, or cover your retreat.
- Override systems: Hack enemy units to alter allegiance or confuse subsystems.
- Deploy: Launch homing missiles, scatter proximity mines, and deploy automated turrets.
- Extract: Evacuate fragile humans from active combat zones.
- Overclock: Slow subjective time to make smarter decisions.
ENVIRONMENTAL SIMULATION
A custom 2D simulation with interacting physical systems.
- Ballistics and physics: Projectiles ricochet. Buildings shatter. Shooting from above deals more damage.
- Thermodynamics: Fire radiates heat and spreads through forests. Overheating triggers catastrophic explosions. Water dissipates heat more efficiently than air. Smoke grenades extinguish fire.
- Atmospherics: Wind spreads smoke cover.
- Stealth: The simulation tracks entity knowledge and line of sight. Concealment is calculated. Sneak past hostiles or strike undetected. Lure enemies into traps.
- Subsystems: Every entity is made of individually simulated parts. Ammo can explode while still inside your opponent's magazine. Robots can lose legs, weapons, or any other subsystem.
RUN STRATEGY
- Choose your path: Navigate a randomized node graph. Preview upcoming sectors to optimize route planning and anticipate threats.
- Manage loadouts: Equip, unequip, and configure weapons and subsystems between sectors.
- Research technology: Unlock persistent upgrades on the tech tree between runs, and activate a limited subset of these for each run. Get all stealthy one run, become a tank the next, or balance several approaches.
