Get-A-Grip Chip is a charming and satisfyingly challenging grappling hook 2D platformer. Master the hook and fling through the increasingly intense floors of Roboco Mfg. Chuck Chip over chainsaws, launch over lasers, and even escape chases with Scan-It Janet.

First off, I'm in love with the soundtrack by Stimmerman. This game is a love letter to fundamentals. No fancy upgrades or power ups - just mastering the basics of fun, fast, and beautifully simplistic gameplay. I think it would appeal to both casual and more serious players. Just taking the levels at your own leisure is fun, but if you want to push yourself and hit the leaderboard, you can go for that too. It's not the most sweaty, challenging game - but it feels great to play. The most fun for me is in the "chase" levels, where you're required to hit a near perfect run. Fun game, great soundtrack, good for those with or without runner experience.
If the visuals and quirky music didn't already sell you on this, the gameplay is tight and great for competitive speed running! I've had a blast trying to clinch that number 1 spot. I'm still working my way through it, but the level design is clever and challenging. I played this in beta and I can tell you that even since then the developer has made some solid quality of life changes. Definitely worth a look!

This game is an excellent piece of indie game goodness. I don't usually enjoy platformer-type games, but the smooth grapple mechanics make the gameplay an absolute blast. The gameplay, level design, art style and soundtrack are all home-runs, and come together to create an excellent experience.
Get-A-Grip Chip is hands down the best video game I've ever reviewed. Top-notch platformer. It is super fun and silly, and the gameplay is spot on. Plus, riding into the danger drones. Puns and puns. Can't wait to see the higher levels! Could use more genital biting though. Chomp chomp.
After having a bad experience at first due to the game malfunctioning on my platform of choice...
all problems have been solved
and now I can say the game is quite entertaining and I love its approach to platforming. Works great on Fedora 35, I really recommend it and I plan to play intensively after completing some real life challenges.
As many of the other reviews mention, the game has a really fun mechanic for getting around that sets it apart from other platformers. I enjoyed the challenge of trying to find all the bots on my first run though (some are very deviously hidden!), but it has also been good for speeding through a level or two when I have a couple minutes to kill. I'd definitely recommend picking it up!
At first I struggled with not being able to jump. And then on top of that, I have to aim my grappling hook and launch?! But within about 10 minutes, I was re-doing levels to try and collect all the lil buddies and land on a respectable spot on the leaderboards (still working on that last one). This game has a fun flow where once you start grappling, you can chain together all your grapples and really move through a level. Speaks a lot to the devs focus on level design. The art is solid and colorful and Chip is easy to focus on even when you're moving pretty fast. The music really shines in this game as its just catchy enough to hum along to but not overbearing. All in all, this is a solid lil game. I just got to the 2nd area and am looking forward to finishing it up soon!
I had to buy a new computer because mine melted, ya know... cuz this game is so fire. The game play, the level design, the artwork, the soundtrack, everything is dope. The mechanics are tricky at first but once you get the hang of it your chips have a one way ticket to grip city. I am a seasoned, veteran gamer. I play Guitar Hero on expert. I almost beat Super Mario World for SNES when I was 10. So, my endorsement carries a lot of weight. Trust me when I say that this game is the dopest trillest ish on Steam. Super Mario World is a better game, but it's not on Steam.
Virou um dos meus jogos de plataforma favoritos. Adoro que você não pula, apenas usa o gancho, e o personagem é super fofo. Mas o melhor fica 100% no level design. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJWx81ggv_Y
The game is quirky and cute. The levels are challenging and fun as well! It's a very creative game with lots of polish and tons of puzzle like levels to explore and traverse.
