Reviews
Some minor improvements over Geneforge 1, more creations, better itemization, more spells and finally a way to spend money on something. The story was not as good as in the first game though, and while non-linear it felt way too unfocused to stay engaged.
Spiderwebsoftware games don't miss! A well done remake of an old classic that is just as fun to play nowadays if you're a fan of CRPGs.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Very interesting fantasy-biopunk world. Wondrous adventure ♥
It's super old-school, but with just enough modern conveniences to make the focus on the fun old school parts, not the annoying old school parts. Absolutely an acquired taste, to be sure, but boy howdy have I acquired it.
Ran flawlessly on Linux. It's been awhile since I've played Genefoge 1: Infestation and even longer since I've played the original Geneforge games, but I loved this one. I've always had a special place in my heart for the Geneforge series - II like playing pet classes/summoners, but too often the experience is underwhelming. The summons are often terrible (maybe they don't scale) or they get nerfed somehow (maybe they drastically reduce your XP, cost too much to be practical or just don't last long enough). In Geneforge, you can play a Shaper and run with a team and even end up more or less steamrolling the game (I just beat torment with a party of mostly Gazers/Eyebeasts) though you can also play the combat focused Guardian or the spell focused Agent. I don't really have much to say about the story other than it's there.
It's fun
My favorite Geneforge game.
excellent story and unique mechanics
This is great if you enjoyed these games years ago. Definitely worth the price.
