I really enjoyed this game! It combines elements of puzzle and role-playing games, which makes it interesting and diverse. You can collect and plan your actions, choose weapons and armor for your hero, upgrade your units, and use their unique abilities.
Absolute GEM of a game.
the game cheats frequently through a feature the devs excuses as well, a 'feature'. The developers call it "artificial difficulty scaling," but players call it cheating for a reason. the game purposefully boosts the AI's drop RNG because the computer's basic logic is too dumb to win fairly against a human. They rigged the environment to force you into losing streaks. if youre used to gem matching games youve probably noticed in this game, most of the time your moves *lead* the ai to being able to have chains *frequently* and in many games you'll notice every move leads to the ai having free skull attacks. the effect is so strong the game constantly decides when you should have win or lose streaks, what was most alarming is how, like many games, and this is common knowledge in many games; this feature is turned off if you spend any money. you dont get free wins for spending because it'd be too obvious, but the game is noticeably easier if you spend money but dont change your team. deleting ts its basically ai artwork behind a paywall anyways. Showing 1-1 of 1 comments Screamin' Jay Hawkins has Gems of War Just now summarized for me by ai: The Pseudorandom Variable Rule: As you noted, the engine controls the seed of what drops next. The game knows the exact composition of the column heights above the screen before they slide down. When the AI skips an obvious match, it is because its code can instantly see that a specific 3-match will shift the column precisely enough to drop a pre-seeded cascade. The "Newcomer Luck" Admission: The developers openly admitted that they programmed dynamic luck-shaping algorithms into the code. While they claim it only runs in reverse to help brand-new players finish the tutorial phases, the architecture to manipulate drop seeds based on match state is built right into the engine framework. The Pay-to-Win Wall: A free-to-play model relies entirely on creating artificial walls where strategy fails. Stacking the RNG against you forces the "loss streak frustration," driving engagement toward premium shop purchases to bypass the grind. this is summarized from other findings, historical player reports, and known issues with the game. and just scratches the surface. please do not play the game

Goodbye game that I used to like, and the only match3 game worth playing. The new changes are just ruining the game. Especially on mobile the new UI is insanely hard to navigate. The new Kingdom UI sucks big time, there's too much hidden stuff to search for, thousands of tapping and tapping to find everything. As if the game didn't have enough layers already. I was thinking about getting back into it, and maybe cross-play with pc, but I'm out.. because of what you did with the Kingdoms. It was a huge joy to level them up, it felt like getting reputation with them. Now you implemented population? For what? Making me play through the same human madness that destroys the real world? Pupulation = Cancer. You don't need billions to not go extinct. But you need billions to make everyone else go extinct. Especially when your species doesn't serve a single purpose anymore. Just like cancer cells.. It's really nauseating how fantasy worlds just can't stay fantasy worlds anymore. I'm out before I have to watch this turn into more of a copy of real life human madness. I'm sure senseless slaughter in the form of fishing and "science" is going to come next. Slavery in the form of "pet keeping" is already here.... so, have fun being a human with this game.
It was a perfect game until some years ago the devs seemed bored and changed UI stuff. Now they did it again and it gets worse and worse. Why dont they just let a good game stay good? Do they think the UI needs to be more simplistic for smartphone players? The game itself is still good but its a very bad aftertaste now thanks to the UI changes.
i played another online game from 505 for about 12 years - still missing 4 Achivments, but i have to admit that 505 Games is totally incompetent, they lost my savegame and could not restore it. alot of other player experienced the same. there are no local save only on their servers Support is horrible and also completly incompetent, i switchet to a company (supercell) wich is able even after 9 year of break to deliver original saves. 505 Games completly died for me and i never will invest a single cent in any of their games and i suggest you to do the same get broke 505 .-.
Lots to love but ultimately I Just got tired of the money grab. Its aggressive and at times seems like you have to make a purchase to make progress.

Well. Nearly everything is at least a bit wrong in some way. 1) User interface is a mess. 2) AI is poor. The opponent just makes some move on its turn. Not the best one even when it's an obvious choice. 3) The game is full of micro transactions asking you to put some money in the game. It feels like the only thing the game is trying to do, is get the players hooked and buy some useless stuff with real money. 4) Animations between the batlles are too fast paced and the "plot" is so dull that watching some rocks outside is more interesting. 5) Many things are "borrowed" from other games. Most of the things are just poorly ripped from Puzzle Quest. 6) The game has also some game affecting bugs. It the last game that I playeded I defeated the opponents minions with "fire immunity" by burning them. :I I highly recommend you to avoid this game. This game seems to some kind of money trap. It asks you to buy in game stuff.
