Garten of Banban

The start to an odd series of amateurish horror games that somehow have managed to fascinate me and keep me following them despite their reputation and the hate they receive online. Much more childlike than the kindergarten it takes place in is the odd twists and turns in story and lore it always takes, like a child telling a story and making the details up as they go, the kindergarten losing all semblance of cohesion and contorting to the whims of the narrative or gameplay. Traditionally its something that people would just call bad writing, but I find in an odd way, it instead simply adds to the charm of the world and its characters and just makes me want to see what sort of paths it attempts to take. It's rare to find something that so unapologetically just plays so loose in what its doing. The real main offense these games often have is at times a bad or repetitive puzzles (which honestly a LOT of horror games have) but outside of the I really have no complaints and find everything it does endearing in a genuine way. If you're insane like me, this first game, esp after the update, is a very fine place to start and the games do progressively get better as the series goes on overall. Id genuinely take this any day over something like poppy playtime as I do feel the devs are trying and learning to improve instead of something that was from the start was extremely money hungry.
