Reviews
Gamedec
Gamedec is what happens when a philosophy podcast run by AI gains sentience and decides to become a point-and-click detective game. You play as a “game detective” investigating crimes inside virtual worlds, which sounds exciting until you realize most of your time is spent interrogating people who speak exclusively in encrypted LinkedIn posts. Every conversation goes something like this: NPC: “But what is identity in a post-human capitalist substrate?” Me: “Sir, I asked where the missing child went.” NPC: “Precisely.” The game proudly advertises that there's no combat, which is accurate because the real enemy is boredom. Entire districts are filled with characters who deliver nonsensical monologues so dense they should be reviewed by structural engineers before loading. The investigation mechanics are incredible if you’ve ever wanted to simulate the experience of maintaining a conspiracy corkboard while on a 3 day bender. You gather clues, connect ideas, and eventually unlock conclusions that feel less like detective work and more like accidentally passing a bad meal after a mighty struggle on the toilet. Visually, the game looks great. Neon everywhere. Rain everywhere. Every citizen dressed like they lost a bet with a hologram. Half the population appears to shop exclusively at “Post-Apocalyptic Fashion Depot.” The roleplaying system deserves special praise for allowing your detective’s personality to evolve dynamically based on your decisions. After just a few minutes my character had apparently developed the important traits of Bored, Frustrated and Endlessly Trapped in Conversations. Still, there’s something admirable about Gamedec. Few games have the courage to say, “What if Shadowrun, Disco Elysium and a Terms of Service Agreement had a baby?” Do you like randomly clicking nonsensical dialog choices hoping the game will allow you to progress with the story? Do you like not being able to even escape a virtual area and instead somehow selected choices that don't allow you to do anything and you find out you're stuck and have to start over? Do you like having the game crash with no autosave, causing you to have to replay those same nonsensical dialog choices? Well then, this game is for you! Step right up and flagellate yourself with Gamedec.

Every market we collect.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.33/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's a good concept with multiple flaws that overshadow it: - The language quality is mediocre to bad. Grammatical errors and typos make the text harder to understand. Formulations are unnatural. - Many, many "riddles" boil down to choosing one of three or four dialogue options without ANY information about which choice is correct. Pure guessing game. - The "profession" system (i.e. tags that unlock dialogue options) is interesting. But: professions need characteristic points to unlock. Those points are given by dialogue options that align with the characteristic. So if I need "forceful" points, I better choose "forceful" answers. And you need all points occasionally. Interferes with roleplaying attempts. - Storyline is... confused? I'm confused at least. Not helped by the text quality. I make "choices" that are barely motived by any information in-game, especially when it comes to side quests. So: Lots of potential as a concept, not even that far off in execution, but falls short on the narrative.
The final chapters are really bad… completely disconnected from reality. The player has no idea what they’re doing and ends up making random decisions. At that point, I just wanted the game to finally be over. The game abandons its detective-ish roots and spirals into what feels like a nonsensical drug trip.
Cool concept, but there are just too many instance where you can softlock quests for innocuous reasons like talking to an NPC more than twice or doing 1 thing before doing another. I don't necessarily need handholding, but I find I want to take a specific path and then run around stuck for 20 minutes with no one talking to me or responding to me is making me lose my enjoyment of the game. A lot of the fixes from devs chatting in the forums end up being "lose some progress and go back several saves to unstick yourself or give up on the thing you want to do" and I could understand that response if the game gave you feedback like "sorry you locked yourself out of this option, you're going to have to try something else", but I don't KNOW that I'm stuck for 5-10 minutes and spend another 5-10 minutes hunting around on forums.
Such a weird game. The premise of investigating real crimes being committed in VR MMOs is cool, but this game is way too rigid to allow that idea to happen. I've played my fair share of East Euro jank, many 00's and early 10's titles badly translated by the one guy in the office who knew a bit of English. This feels like that. Flowery dialog, musings on humanity, too many allegories. I don't care if the teen cosplaying a hobo gets off on it or his reasons. I want information on the case. You get a handful of questions per character before their dialog tree locks up, sometimes the game only allows you to pick one choice before the NPC moves onto the next topic. Some "puzzles" are guesswork and punish you for failing to roll a dice. Most NPCs stand still around a hub, so you just run around, talk to some people which unlock a new dialogue option, puzzle, interaction, do it then go back to step 1. You can unlock more dialogue options by getting professions, which require characteristic points, acquired by picking certain dialogue. So your character feels like a moody diva punching a child in the face before crying about it so you can unlock the ability to diagnose medical ailments. I made it two thirds into the Farmville case before I realized I was not having fun. I was quickloading to get basic information out of npcs, getting puzzles right, choosing options in a certain order to get more squeeze out of the dialog, picking the dialog that gave me points to unlock the next profession. Fun fact, I quickloaded so much I realized the loading bar was fake. I could click when it was one fifth of the way and it would put me into the game. The little things, you know.
In the first playthrough I got stuck. The second around 3 years later I finished but the ending was a real dissapointment. First two missions are great and exactly what I was expecting, after that we got on a slippery slope, where nothing makes sense and it gets super confusing. I like games where you are trying to figgure out the correct solution. In this game, you are pretty much choosing whatever you like and the game says "yeah sure absolutely". The first two missions are a detective game. And the game is really good. The rest is weird pseudo philosophical dive. Didnt enjoy at all SPOILER ALERT On the very end you are basically given ending options and suddenly everthing you done up to that point is judged and you can be given only one choice of ending if you were trying to do stuff. That was dissapointing af.
Неплохой концепт и попытка, но...нет. Это скучно. В игре много достоинств, и в первые часы тебе столько всего показывают, что дух захватывает. Пока не становится понятно, как все поверхностно здесь на самом деле. Бросил на середине.
I should be the perfect target audience for this, but somehow I tried to get into the game several times, but well.. it just didn’t click with me at all. Meh.
