About
Developed independently by Xiao Xiong, former host of GameFeng TV
The Last Elder of the Sect is an indie cultivation-themed game that blends Roguelike inventory management with 3D tower defense hack‑and‑slash. You play as a disciple of the sect, standing on a floating celestial island above a sea of clouds, battling ancient ferocious beasts that have broken free from the Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shan Hai Jing).
Here, combat isn't just about raw numbers. Before each battle, you must carefully arrange your magical treasures—flying swords, sacred artifacts, and cultivation techniques—on the Bagua Mirror. Adjacent items resonate with each other, triggering synergy bonuses. For example, placing an Ice Sword on the Kan (Water) hexagram grants a 30% attack boost, and combining it with a whetstone and mana oil makes it even deadlier. Do you stack pure DPS, or balance slow and burn effects? Every layout is a strategic gamble.
Combat features a 3D vertical-screen perspective: aim with your mouse and hold left-click to unleash flying swords; press keys 1–8 to cast special skills. Ten waves of enemies advance relentlessly, with a 5‑minute enrage timer—after that, foes grow faster and never stop. Eleven epic bosses from the Shan Hai Jing each have unique abilities: the invisible Gudiao, the splitting nine‑tailed fox, the element‑immune Xuan Gui, the ever‑strengthening Zhuhuai… You'll need to adapt your tactics constantly to prevail.
Every victory unlocks more sectors on the Bagua Mirror, refreshes high‑tier artifacts in the shop, and lets you forge legendary flying swords via the synthesis system. Even more precious is your permanent growth through the cultivation system: Qi Refining increases starting spirit stones, Foundation Building boosts attack percentage, Core Formation unlocks interest on spirit stones, and Nascent Soul grants extra skill charges. Even if you fall in a run, your cultivation endures—you'll set out stronger next time.
When you survive nine waves and face the final boss, the game transforms into an interactive cultivation movie—four cinematic cutscenes (Transformation, Sword Draw, Awakening, Reversal) deliver the ultimate climactic experience.
The Last Elder of the Sect is an action game combining Roguelike inventory management and 3D tower defense hack‑and‑slash. You are a sect disciple on a floating immortal island, wielding flying swords against ancient beasts from the Shan Hai Jing. Victory depends not only on reflexes but also on your "formation" strategy on the Bagua Mirror—arrange artifacts, weapons, and techniques to trigger synergy bonuses, turning weakness into strength and defying fate.
In the beginning, the heavens and earth were filled with abundant spiritual energy, and myriad races thrived. But over the millennia, the energy waned, ancient seals weakened, and the ferocious beasts recorded in the Shan Hai Jing broke free, overrunning the mortal world. Your sect—the last pure land of cultivation—stands as the final defense. From Qi Refining to Nascent Soul, you will climb the pinnacle of cultivation. In the final battle, when all seems lost, a mysterious voice across time and space will awaken the power sleeping within you, guiding you to comprehend the ultimate sword art—Sword God.
◆ 3D Bullet‑Hell Tower Defense Hack‑and‑Slash
Your character stands in the center of the island—no movement required. Aim with the mouse and hold left‑click to launch flying swords. Multiple swords are fired in rotation, each with its own cooldown and elemental attribute. You must switch targets flexibly amid the monster horde, controlling the battlefield via camera rotation and timely skill usage.
◆ Ten Waves of Extreme Challenge
Ten waves total, each with three difficulty tiers. Enemy HP scales from 80 to 800,000. Each wave has a 5‑minute timer; after that, enemies enter enrage mode—speed gradually increases and they fight to the death.
◆ 11 Unique Shan Hai Jing Bosses – each with distinct mechanics.
◆ 8 Major Special Skills – plus a unique skill for the final showdown.
◆ Five Weapon Affixes – each flying sword can carry one of these traits:
Area Damage – splash damage on hit.
Slow – chance to reduce enemy movement speed.
Burn – deals continuous fire damage over time.
Exterminate – bonus damage against elites/bosses.
Single Target – extreme focused damage.
The five elements—Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth—run through both weapons and artifacts. Matching a weapon's element with its Bagua sector grants a 30% attack bonus; some bosses are immune to specific elements, testing your loadout strategy.
Outside battle, you return to the mirror world to arrange your artifacts on the Bagua Mirror (a circular grid).
◆ Unlock Bagua Sectors – spend spirit stones to gradually unlock all 8 sectors (Qian, Dui, Li, Zhen, Kun, Gen, Kan, Xun).
◆ Artifact Placement & Synergy – place three types of artifacts (weapons, treasures, techniques) onto the mirror. Adjacent treasures and weapons generate synergy links; sector bonuses further enhance matching elemental weapons. Drag, rotate, experiment—finding the optimal layout is key to victory.
◆ 62 Artifacts – including various weapons and treasures, ready for your combinations.
