挂机好游戏!凡修我最爱
凡人修仙传之韩老魔传奇 is a very typical idle cultivation RPG in the way it is built, but I think the connection to Han Li and the world of A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality gives it enough of its own identity. I start off following Han Li from his early days at Seven Mysteries Sect and gradually work my way through the different stages of cultivation. The main idea is basically to keep getting stronger, pushing through cultivation bottlenecks and unlocking more of the world while a lot of the progress happens automatically in the background. I like the general setup because it lets me dip in and out rather than expecting me to constantly sit there and play. The idle progression is the part I enjoy most because there is always another improvement waiting for me. I can collect the resources generated while I am away, use them to improve my character and then try to push further through the main progression. The cultivation system goes through stages such as Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, Core Formation and eventually much higher realms, and breaking through is tied into medicines and spiritual formations. I like the feeling of slowly building up Han Li from a fairly ordinary cultivator into someone much more powerful, even though the actual process is mostly about managing upgrades and making sure I am strong enough for the next wall. There is a lot more here than just leaving the game running. I can take part in things like the Profound Realm hunts and Void Sky Pass, collect magical treasures and companions, and work with different equipment combinations that are tied into elemental counters. The game also has a sect system with shared resources and activities, along with cross server boss fights that are supposed to put a huge number of players into the same battle. I also like the random travel system because it can throw unexpected events at me, including chances to find old treasures or run into people who want trouble. Those extra systems make the game feel more like a full cultivation world instead of just an idle numbers screen. The part I am less keen on is how quickly the number of systems starts piling up. There are equipment upgrades, spirit pets, formations, talismans, treasures, companions, different cultivation mechanics and several separate activities that unlock later. The game can feel like it is constantly adding another menu for me to manage. I do like having more things to work towards, but there are times when I am spending more time sorting through upgrades and claiming rewards than actually doing anything interesting. That is a normal problem for this type of RPG, but it becomes especially noticeable here because the game is built around automation. The other thing that holds it back for me is the free to play structure. The game is built as an idle MMORPG with in game purchases, so there are plenty of systems designed around long term progression and regular rewards. I can play without paying, but the amount of currencies, packages and progression systems makes it difficult for me to forget that this is a free to play game. I also have to be comfortable with the fact that some progress is much slower when I am relying entirely on normal play. That does not completely ruin it for me, but it makes the whole experience feel more like something I am checking every day rather than a game I am actively playing for long sessions. I do think the source material helps a lot. Being able to use characters and locations connected to Han Li's story gives me more of a reason to care about the progression than I would have in a completely original idle RPG. The game includes major elements from the novel, including Han Li's relationships, iconic treasures and different stages of his cultivation journey. There is also a huge amount of story content advertised, which is useful because an idle game needs something beyond bigger numbers to make the world feel worthwhile. At the same time, I would get much less out of this part if I had no interest in the original story because the game is clearly made around that setting. Overall, 凡人修仙传之韩老魔传奇 is a decent cultivation idle RPG that I think works best when I treat it as a game I check regularly rather than something I sit and play constantly. I like the Han Li setting, the cultivation progression, the huge collection of treasures and the amount of extra systems that gradually open up. The downside is that there are so many systems competing for my attention that the game can start feeling more like managing a collection of menus than actually experiencing an adventure. It also leans heavily into free to play progression, which limits how high I would rate it. Still, there is enough content and enough connection to the original story to make it more interesting to me than a completely generic idle RPG. Rating: 7.5/10
