About
Galactic Getaway is a wholesome life sim inspired by games like Viva Piñata. Settle into your own peaceful pocket of space and build a home that attracts adorable creatures. Every crop you grow, every decoration you craft, and every detail you put into your home determines who might arrive and who might choose to stay.
Your world begins with just the basics — trees, soil and sky. Create your character, choose your style and begin shaping a home that feels like your own.
Everything you place changes how your world feels. Some creatures are drawn to calm. Others love color and clutter. Grow glowing vegetables, gather rare resources and craft furniture and decorations to bring your vision to life.
As your world evolves, new creatures will begin to appear. Each one has its own preferences and personality. Some will visit briefly. Others might settle in if the conditions feel right. Keep changing and experimenting to learn what makes them stay.
Between farming and decorating, take time to unwind with a selection of wholesome mini-games. From pastel tank battles to spaceball and fashion shows, they’re a fun way to earn rewards and enjoy the sillier side of your getaway
Invite your friends to visit, decorate, and collect pets together. Trade decorations, team up to attract rare creatures, or just relax while your planets come to life.
Design a cozy explorer that feels like you. Choose your hairstyle, outfit, and color palette Whether you're going full pastel space-elf or rugged galactic gardener, your vibe helps shape the world around you.

Reviews
I would highly recommend giving this game a try! :D I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but I'm really glad I decided to throw caution to the wind and give it a go for myself because I've been having a blast!! The game is currently in EA and that can be felt in a few pesky bugs, a lack of polish here and there... but it has a ton of potential, a beautiful design and a fun concept. The love that's been poured into this game by the devs truly shines through. It's encouraging to see them so active on Discord. I had a couple of questions today and they were answered extremely quickly, within a few minutes!! They are very involved with the community, listening to and taking on board feedback and quickly squashing bugs that are reported. The game needs a bit more time to cook to reach its full potential but if you want to be involved in shaping it, I'd 100% recommend giving it a shot :) Otherwise, it's definitely one to keep on your radar!!
Where do I even start? First of all: The game is definitely a lot of fun! You can tell that the developer knows what players of this genre want or expect. But unfortunately—unfortunately!—the execution is still lacking. The game is extremely buggy—like, seriously. There are bugs that really shouldn't exist, not even in an Early Access title. Things like falling through the world, furniture duplicating permanently when placed, items disappearing or getting reduced when stacking, and so on. Also, progression is way too fast and too easy. After just 10+ hours, you’ve basically seen everything. I’m sure there's a lot more content to come, but right now you reach everything way too quickly without needing to work toward anything. And yet? I LOVE this game and I'm genuinely excited to watch it grow and evolve over time...

Clicked that I recommend, but please read so you can understand better if you should take the chance. I backed this game on Kickstarter, when the original premise being shown was Animal Crossing but you collect pets. It now is more you collect pets with furniture and your home being part of the game. I even backed a tier to get exclusive furniture and a pet, but with how things have gone from a strong start (backers like me were sent their copies nearly right away after the campaign ended which initially was a good sign) to where I only have 3.5 hours, none of the backer rewards I chose, my original save is stuck on an old laptop (fun fact the saves for this game doesn't use steam cloud, so you change devices, too bad, start over, which isn't as devastating since its still alpha), and the team has been let go because the kickstarter funds are gone. It isn't being aided by the fact its now just one person working on this with their full time job, as people would perceive the lack of communication as abandonment. When I played there was either a lack of quests as they slowly added them (which makes sense, its an alpha, they added them as they were ready) or bugs. And since the funds for a full team working full time are pretty much gone, this is the state its in. Now! You may be put off but if you got this far good. The scope of the game shows ambition, its not perfect but if your willing to chance it may get updates and over time the last person working on it can turn things around, it could very well be worth the time. Galactic Getaway probably should have had more time outside of the public eye of a kickstarter before the campaign began, and the negative reviews lead people to not buy, which leads to a lower chance it can ever reach a state where it could be good. As with any early access, its not guaranteed, you could buy and it remains in the same state it is now or it could be updated and meet the expectations everyone has of it. I wanted to put this review off, my original save being lost on a laptop I no longer have access to, and no other way to recover it, at least currently. But my silence on the game probably doesn't help people decide if its worth the chance, which could only hurt any updates ever arriving. For what I could get to play, it wasn't bad and I had hoped by this time I'd be reviewing a completed, or at least not in alpha game. It has the potential, for all the bugs, it does work. And as a kickstarter backer, I did at least get what I paid for in its current state which is better than backing a game that simply never made it out of the campaign. If you hope to see it reach its full potential, by all means, make the purchase. But if it still being early access and incomplete puts you off, at least wishlist in case it proves worth your time and money in the future.
So, how do I best begin? I don't usually write public reviews, but I think this game and the people behind it truly deserve it, and I haven't felt the need to write about it here in a long time. First of all: Yes, the game is really in Early Access. Not like, we'll just call it that and it will stay that way forever so we never have to say, "The game is finished." There's a lot to test, a lot to improve, and a lot more to come. But, unlike many games I've played in their early stages before, I really get the feeling that everything is being addressed, and that the team often react incredibly quickly. In some cases, you even have influence over what ends up in the game. The team behind this game puts so much heart and soul into it. Now to the game itself. It has echoes of many popular games, like a bit of Pokemon here, a bit of Animal Crossing there, a bit of party games there, but it's already clear that it's intended to have its own unique character. The connection to mini-games and a small communal area, where up to 60 players can join and where you often see familiar players again, gives the community aspect a greater focus. You can also visit and look at other people's planets, and perhaps even have certain advantages if many people are there together. But playing on your own, discovering what kind of furniture, decorations and clothes are available, expanding your planet and constantly discovering new pets or plants, is also something I personally enjoy a lot. It's not a game where a huge world is explored. It's a small, cozy game for relaxing, still in its early stages, but one where you can already discover its potential if you get involved. Don't expect a flawless finished game, but despite all the flaws, you can still have a lot of fun with this game, as well as with the community and team behind it.
I started playing yesterday and have already spent more than 10 hours in this game. It still has a few bugs because it's early access but that definitely doesn't take away from the fun. I've already fallen in love with the game and I'm looking forward to spending a lot more time on my planet and in the HQ with the great community. If you are looking for a relaxed and cute game, then you should definitely play it! <3
This game is still in early access, but it's still very fun. It's a great community, and the devs are great!
1/10
Had a lot of fun playing this during early development. The colors are vibrate and the community of people is a lot of to be around. The fact it's an actual multiplayer with a hub and quests to do makes it more inviting and helps give direction to the game. Would recommend the game if you like life building style of game. Some tweaks I noticed that can be changed are; Jump animation, feels a bit clunky like when you're standing near a ledge that can be jumped over, but can't because you're too close. The picking up/digging animation feels clunky too. Like when dig or pick up there's like a delay or time period when you're stuck in that animation before being able to move. (could be just me and it's intentional) Clipping through the boundary when you jump in the water of the hub and can find yourself standing in mid air over the water or your pet would still be clipped through the boundary. But since the game is early access, did expect for some form of play to have some bugs and parameter fixes as the game gets polished and pushes for future updates <3
Extremely buggy. I've captured pets several times that just... don't show up. They're just gone into the ether with all of the resources I spent tricking them into loving me. Also, you can't change out of your spacesuit until you unlock the fashionista - which is fair- but once you do you are given access to a menu to change clothes in. At first it seems like you have no clothes, but you still have the option to take off your spacesuit. I was playing around with it, seeing if there was base clothing or something under it. NOPE. AND WHEN YOU TAKE OFF THE SPACESUIT IT ALSO VANISHES. So you have to RUN AROUND IN YOUR TINY BOYBRIEFS UNTIL YOU CAN AFFORD THE VERY EXPENSIVE CLOTHES. Man. Just do yourself a favor... don't buy this game. They take your cute little guys... they take your clothes... they take your will to live :'(
je demande un remboursement je sais même pas comment on fait sur Steam deck merci de bien vouloir m'expliquer comment ça marche
