Pretty good, good enough to play
A fantastic sport management game, a must for any hockey fans! It has some great features, I love the fact you can select what year you want to play in, challenge mode is great. One of those games you can keep coming back to for some more!
you can go as indepth as you want, to a low key gm, that just runs a team. still havent really gone too deep, but i like everything about it so far, much improved compaired to ehm 3 (the last i bought) I paid $20 for it and it is well worth it at that price!

Franchise Hockey Manager 7 is a deep and methodical sports management simulator developed by Out of the Park Developments in collaboration with Minos Games and published by Out of the Park Developments. Designed for players who value strategic oversight and long-term planning over direct on-ice control, the game places you in the role of a hockey executive responsible for every aspect of a franchise’s success. From roster construction and player development to financial management and tactical philosophy, Franchise Hockey Manager 7 is less about moment-to-moment excitement and more about the slow, satisfying process of building a sustainable hockey powerhouse. The scope of the simulation is one of its defining strengths. Players can manage teams across a wide range of real-world leagues, including the fully licensed NHL, as well as numerous international competitions and historical setups. Whether you want to guide a modern franchise through salary-cap challenges or rewrite hockey history by taking control of teams in past eras, the game provides an impressive amount of flexibility. Historical modes allow you to relive and reshape iconic moments in the sport, while custom leagues let you create entirely new hockey universes with tailored rules, structures, and competitive balances. Franchise Hockey Manager 7 distinguishes itself from earlier entries through refinements to its core systems, most notably the rebuilt 2D match engine. While still far from a broadcast-style presentation, this top-down view of games provides clearer visual feedback on how tactical choices and roster decisions play out on the ice. Watching formations shift, lines change, and plays develop adds an extra layer of immersion that helps bridge the gap between abstract simulation and tangible results. It reinforces the sense that your decisions off the ice genuinely influence what happens during games. Team building is where the game truly shines. Scouting and drafting systems are detailed and demanding, requiring careful interpretation of reports, probabilities, and long-term potential rather than simple numerical ratings. Identifying future stars, deciding when to take risks on raw prospects, and managing farm teams all play a crucial role in sustained success. Development is not guaranteed, and poor decisions can echo for years, which makes successful drafts and player progression especially rewarding. The inclusion of mock drafts and expanded scouting tools adds realism and strategic depth that mirrors real-world front-office challenges. Financial management is tightly woven into the experience. Budgets, contracts, staff salaries, and league regulations must all be balanced carefully, particularly in salary-cap environments. Overspending on star players can cripple flexibility, while excessive frugality risks mediocrity and fan dissatisfaction. These systems encourage players to think beyond a single season and consider the long-term health of their organization, rewarding patience and disciplined planning over impulsive moves. The interface, while functional and information-rich, reflects the game’s niche appeal. Menus are dense, screens are packed with data, and the learning curve can be steep for newcomers. However, this complexity is a deliberate choice rather than a flaw, catering to players who enjoy poring over statistics, charts, and reports. Once familiar, the interface becomes a powerful toolset that allows for precise control over nearly every aspect of the franchise, though it may remain intimidating for those accustomed to more streamlined sports titles. Franchise Hockey Manager 7 is not a game built for quick sessions or casual play. It thrives when given time and attention, rewarding players who enjoy long-term narratives and incremental progress. Seasons blend together as rivalries develop, prospects mature, and dynasties rise or fall based on decisions made years earlier. This sense of continuity and consequence is central to the game’s appeal, making each save feel like a living hockey world shaped by your choices. Taken as a whole, Franchise Hockey Manager 7 stands as one of the most comprehensive hockey management simulations available. Its depth, flexibility, and commitment to realism make it especially appealing to hardcore fans of the sport and veterans of sports management games. While its presentation is modest and its complexity demanding, the satisfaction of constructing a winning organization from the front office down is immense. For players who find joy in strategy, analysis, and long-term vision, Franchise Hockey Manager 7 delivers an absorbing and rewarding experience that few games in the genre can match. Rating: 7/10
This one is a fun and in depth sim of NHL...

Fantastic game, not quite as seamless and fleshed out as OOTP, but still amazing and well worth a purchase
