I'm a big MMORPG player, "world of warcraft, oldschool runescape, guild wars 2, Tera online, Aion" and quite a few more, and as much as I love world of warcraft and oldschool runescape there's something about Final Fantasy XIV that just does it for me, here's a few reasons that make the game better than most other MMORPG'S, old content isn't irrelevant like WoW's old raids where you just go in and one shot everything, you can still que for content that's multiple expansions ago and it will sync your level down to said content, and due to that reason there's no FOMO "fear of missing out" in the game, another great thing about FFXIV is the community, don't get me wrong you'll still get idiots as you do in every online game but way less, And the final reason I'll note is the story, A lot of MMORPG'S don't really focus on the story, It's just "go here, collect 10 boar asses, quest complete" where as FFXIV's story has a grounded plot and an actual story worth getting invested in, But yeah this is one of the only MMORPG'S i'd rate a 10/10 so play it :), "you can play free until level 80".
meh
É o jogo que definiu o genero mmorpg, boa historia e boas mecanicas, ponto negativo é que ao invés de te entregar um pico de adrenalina vc recebe em poucas doses, é uma experiencia unica e constante mesmo os conteudos menos empolgantes.
Captivating story, flexible UI, vast open world and events. Way better community than WoW in my opinion.
TL;DR
1,200 hours in and I'm still only on Endwalker — one expansion behind Dawntrail — and I have zero regrets about the pace. This game eats time and gives immersion back in return. Recommended.

Summary
Twelve hundred hours is a genuinely stupid number to have logged in anything, and I'm still not caught up — I finished Endwalker and haven't touched Dawntrail yet. That's not the game dragging its feet, that's just how much there is to actually do between expansions: MSQ, side content, crafting, glam, the works. The story carries real weight, the world feels lived-in rather than like a quest-delivery machine, and the amount of side content that's actually worth doing (not just padding) is absurd for an MMO at this point in its life.
The good
Immersion and pacing — the MSQ is the main draw and it earns the hype. Endwalker in particular closes out the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc in a way that actually lands emotionally, which is rare for an MMO story. Content density — 1,200 hours and I'm still not "done," and I'm not chasing achievements for the sake of it. There's just always something else worth doing. Systems depth — crafting, gathering, glamour, housing — all of it feels like a real game loop, not a side menu bolted onto combat.
The one gripe
Combat feels sluggish early on — GCD-locked rotations can feel like you're wading through molasses if you're coming from an action-combat background. That impression mostly evaporates once you actually learn to weave oGCDs and optimize your rotation; it goes from "why is this so slow" to "oh, this is a rhythm game" pretty fast. It's a learning-curve problem, not a design problem, but it's real enough in the first several hours that it's worth flagging for anyone bouncing off the early game.
Bottom line
Still a hole in my Dawntrail knowledge, still not remotely bothered by that fact. Recommended without reservation.
It's ok.
I have a tattoo from this game
The story alone is worth every penny!
unironically some of the best stories in gaming history
O jogo roda muito bem no linux!
