About
FEAR OF FAITH is a co-op dieselpunk survival horror game where cloned soldiers raid cursed WWII bunkers to recover SYNTRUM, the essence of those who never returned. Choose from four classes, invoke miracles through FAITH, drink BEER to control your FEAR, and improvise with weapons and physics-based equipment. Explore procedurally generated levels and scavenge everything you need to face a B.O.S.S. that punishes the unprepared.

Combine different classes and spells to interact with the environment and overcome obstacles and monsters in unique ways.
Ignite oil puddles? Electrify water? Polymorph a GHOUL into a RAT? Or just cast silent step and sneak through the bunker in total stealth - it all depends on your skill and will.
Each class has its own passives and spells. Find the perfect synergy, or form a full priest squad to bring TRUE FAITH into the bunker.

Casting spells will consume your FAITH, which causes you to be in FEAR.
Some eldritch horrors can drain your FAITH as well, and if you fail to keep it steady, SHE will come for you. Then you will become a GHOUL... or something worse.
Reduce your FEAR with alcohol or ally spells, keep the generator lights on, and buy some COPIUM during the mission.

Slowly open doors to check for traps, or kick them open during a chase.
Every gameplay item is physical - grab it, throw it, or use it directly from your hands. You can even throw away a grenade triggered by a tripwire.
Your teammates can catch items mid-air, BUT DON'T TOSS THEM AN ACTIVE GRENADE! It tends to separate the team. BY LIMBS.

Fuel the light to keep FEAR away, or embrace the DARK for greater gain.
When the generator is active, it restores your FAITH and slightly tames the monsters - but blocks paths filled with valuable loot.

Dive into an alternate World War II era setting, where dieselpunk technology and eldritch horrors collide.
Do not FEAR Unreal Engine 5. We kept our FAITH and did our best to optimize it. Any lag is pure HERESY or simply the work of Empire enemies.

A fun game to play with friends, you can chill, have a drink, and even pet the cat! I wish the game and the developers continued improvement and success:3
FEAR OF FAITH Video Game Review An unpolished early access game that is somehow still fun It’s true that video gamers are, by and large, some of the worst people on the planet. Needy, demanding, and entirely devoid of intelligence while thinking themselves smart. I myself am one of these horrible people, and embrace this fact fully. FEAR OF FAITH is a one-to-four player co-op survival horror game, which enjoys mixing the cute and wholesome with the grotesque and monstrous. You can pet a cat, and then find a dismembered monster rushing towards you - simply because you opened a door. I played FEAR OF FAITH totally solo, for roughly an hour and a half. I think all video games should be played for around two hours, to see if you fully like it or not. What I found was a buggy game that had a lot of charm. Of course it’s buggy! It’s an early access game that came out August 21st. With the rise of “friendslop” games, I think it’s important to decide if a game has merit to play solo. Nobody is playing Lethal Company solo, but people play Deep Rock Galactic solo. FEAR OF FAITH leans more towards Deep Rock Galactic, in that a solo player can find enjoyment from it. So long as you don’t mind horror. The core gameplay I experienced was entertaining. Skulking through the dark bunkers looking for corpses to draw essence from is certainly unique, if nothing else. The only bug I encountered in my hour and a half playing was getting stuck due to a poorly done jump. Essentially, you’re dropped into either a bunker or city (I only played the bunker portion of the game), and you have to find “intact corpses” to draw essence from them. Each “day” you have a quota to fulfill. Similar to Helldivers 2, you need to use your directional keys to cast your “spells”. So, you find a body, cast the spell to draw the essence, and try to escape. Of course if you find dismembered corpses you can try to draw the essence out, but it just turns them into monsters that try to kill you. In the tutorial you’re told to NOT do this, but I did it anyway cause I’m a rebel and don’t follow instructions. Perhaps this explains why I never completed a mission. Combat feels heavy to me. It actually feels like you’re swinging a giant metal pipe, or throwing something. Some people will like that style, others will want more fluid combat. I prefer the heavier combat where you need to time swings. The game isn’t as advanced as that in this current build. While the swings are heavy, you can easily get behind creatures and bash them with your weapon. You don’t need to worry too much about stamina. You do get knocked down when struck, so it’s best to dance around the monsters to attack them - or just escape. The game has four classes: Soldier, Medic, Priest, and Scout. I played both the Priest and Scout, and I found both enjoyable for different reasons. The Priest had spells associated with combating “fear”, which causes you to hallucinate. The Scout was the better of the two for solo play, because it gave you an ability to escape from monsters via a smoke censer spell. The Priest seemed focused on fire-based equipment, which is nice because I love setting people on fire. You need to actually pour a flammable liquid on things to set them on fire. A dismembered body on the ground? Throw or pour liquid on it. Then you set it on fire. Same with the monsters chasing you. The game rewards you if you set up traps and lure monsters towards your “puddles of oil” on the ground. Aim your flare gun and fire. I am sure a game that just announced “Patch 0.05.005” is not going to be fully complete. I know, I know. Already people are preparing to kill me because I shouldn’t give early access games a break. I usually agree, because these indie devs have gone out of control with overpriced garbage that is fun for maybe thirty minutes. This game is currently sold at full price for $11.99 CAD. Pretty much the same price as actual ♥♥♥♥ served to you at Tim Hortons. (Coffee? $2.50. Donut? $2. BLT? $7) At least this game doesn’t give me diarrhea. Now, like any proper person reviewing a game I was pretty BAD at this one. I didn’t manage to do my mission successfully once. I don’t think the game is necessarily hard, but my infirmity has caused me to step on far too many landmines. Whoops! So, for $11.99 CAD (cheaper than a movie ticket as well), how many hours of enjoyment can you get out of this game AS IT CURRENTLY SITS? I’d say maybe two to three hours, tops. Of course you could return to it later and get more fun out of it, but for the sake of argument let’s say three hours. It’s up to you if you think it’s worth it, but I thought it was. Maybe it’s because I like Jin-Roh (though, I think this game was more inspired by the Helghast of Killzone), but I also just like the style of the game. I do not recall any music in the game currently, but the atmospheric sounds are good. You can hear footsteps in the distance, giant creatures dragging metal across concrete. It definitely adds to the experience, but I think they could benefit from more music. It doesn’t have to be something over the top and grand. Just a simple, moody soundtrack could improve the game. The best part of the game for me was the atmosphere. The casting of spells, discussions of Faith and Empire, and the grimy feel of it all. The entire world feels wrong, but for the right reasons. If you’re interested in horror games built around meeting a quota, and don’t mind the Early Access edges, it might be worth a try. Just remember that you COULD have purchased a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ BLT combo from Tim Hortons for the price. Review: ⭐⭐⭐⬛⬛ - Core Gameplay There are quests available on a board when you leave the arrival area, but it isn’t substantial enough. Getting in, sneaking around, and getting essence is fun. Killing bosses is fun. But a man can only do it for so long. ⭐⭐⬛⬛⬛ - Replayability It’s hard to say this game is overly replayable. I think you can get a couple hours of fun out of it, then stop playing. Come back with bigger updates to see what the developer has in store. ⭐⭐⭐⬛⬛ - Atmosphere The best part of the game as it stands. With good music, more ambient noises, and perhaps hallucinations that were more subtle this could go up to a four. Overall Score: 5.3 / 10

Do you like beer? Do you like Hot Goth Baddies? Do you like Cats? Do you like Amnesia: The Bunker and World War Horror? Well my battle-brother/sister this is your game. But be warned the game is on EARLY ACCESS. -For the moment the game has two levels and two game modes. B.O.S.S mode survive 2 days and on the third day fight against a BOSS Endless Bunker mode: No BOSSES only surviving inside the bunker, while each day that passes slowly gets difficult. +Positive side: The devs lread the bug-reports on the official discord server and quick response to them with hotfixes. +BIG PLUS: You can pet the cat :3
You can put a helmet on ur cat??? This is freaking dope, man! I already love this game! 🐱🔥 No, but seriously, I was super surprised by the amount of content for an early access indie game. Add a bit more polish and this game is gonna be top-tier. Cats, beer, and a dark bunker hehe let’s gooo! 🍻✨
I want to see this game thrive but there is a long road ahead if the optimization get better by the next few patches, it will deserves better fame among other similar games
Well, it’s certainly not one of the best coop-friendslope games ever made, but it’s definitely one of the most unique and interesting. Bugs? — Of course! But the horror and the overall atmosphere here feel just thing. Especially when the lights go out and you’re waiting for that moment. In some cases, the gameplay mechanics make this game almost an immersive sim—simple, but still. With friends, it’s all fun and feels a lot like an adventure, but in single-player mode, it turns into a survival horror game. I like it)
boring. uninspired. bleh. bought this game so i could leave a negative review for the fact the devs are using ai and what are likely stolen steam accounts to leave reviews on the buggy nightmare they released. In the future I would give the ai you used different prompts and tell it not to use m dashes so its not so blatantly obvious what you are doing. do not buy this game. ♥♥♥♥ these devs.
It's awesome, it just needs a bit of polish. Weapons break very quickly, ammo is scarce and you always feel underprepared. That adds to the vibe for sure, but it's rough when there's only one or two players in a session. Mannequins are TERRIFYING Enemy variety is pretty good, but it boils down to one of two types: They kidnap you, or they hurt you directly. Sometimes both. I'm definitely coming back in a month or two to see how rounded-out the edges get. Excited to see how development continues. Side note: the message you get for losing connection to a lobby is awesome. Charming af... <3
Fear of Faith is primarily a cooperative horror immersive sim but has many overlapping gameplay mechanics from many games you might remember. While initially it's a confusing and bewildering experience, it does have a solid hook and gameplay loop. However it's incredibly barebones and it does have bugs. However, considering the current EA price it might be worth a trip. Right, i'll start with the good. The game for the most part is intuitive in it's level design with many elements you might be used to from other imsims. Alarm systems, doors you can break into in multiple ways and a spell system that actually has a lot of variety in how you interact with the world. Enemies are hard to kill in this game, you actively need to plan to kill them. They do not stay dead but cutting a head off is generally going to kill them.. with exceptions. If you go in half ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and didn't bring items to deal with them then expect a lot of panicked running. It's also important to obtain as much resources from the monster as possible. No head, no reward. This incentives being smart with it, if you engage a monster then gunshots are risky and make a serious amount of noise, it can seriously steamroll you and your friends into an early grave. You're better off stunning them with a grenade and then beating them down and decapitating them. Alternatively avoiding them entirely. The best part of all of this is that it works pretty well in coop, if you're getting this game then you're going to be missing out by not playing in coop. It's just the way it goes. Right spells. It's a really really important part of the game. It's very akin to Helldivers 2, down to typing down the arrow keys to set your spell to go but it's not your only means of casting spells. For quicker actions you can use a radial menu with limited slots. You can unlock them as apart of your hub permanently for any future runs in a save, also midrun at spawn temporarily for that and rarely in a grimoire you can find out in the levels which again only lasts for that run. These can range from simple scanning spells that track down critical resources like health or weapons and also be as innocuous as using it to track down a cute cat. Some of them are used for making dispatching enemies easier, setting things on fire, self-defensive stun spells which your a friend can follow up with axe to the neck. Very valuable supportive abilities like being able to refill health and faith or giving a one time shield to other members of the team. There's just generally a lot of variety in the spells and how they function and this is the game at it's absolute best when you have a wide array of spells and you are messing with them in fun and unexpected ways. Spells however cost Fear, Fear is essentially a sanity gauge. If you have low fear, expect things to get very difficult if you keep pushing your luck. If you run out of faith, you're in big trouble and you won't be able to be revived when you "die". So how do you recover Fear? A few ways. Alcoholism! Beer. There's a boombox that can restore faith as well. Of course you could also ask your team's priest to bless you but let's be honest. The beer is more fun. On a moment to moment basis Fear of Faith is fun and has promise but it has some pretty serious blemishes as it stands. The obvious. Bugs. None too gamebreaking but there are some real bugs in this game and a whole lotta jank. Enemies feel really janky here and there and their AI pathfinding can seem really weird and inconsistent. Some spells don't work properly or at least don't seem to do what they are supposed to do. Both Bosses in the BOSS Mode are really really janky, i'm talking painfully jank. The first time i fought one, it's name was "THE BOSS NAME" i'm not even kidding. The hardest one in particular is ridiculously overtuned, i'm talking the sort of boss that stunlocks you to death in one go. We wiped in 20 seconds flat on our first go on that one. The content is incredibly barebones, particularly in interesting environments. You'll see the same prefabs over and over again no matter which location you pick. And don't expect to be going out on the surface except for one big exception. You're in the same bunker atm for all levels. I don't really like how progression works with unlocking spells and items. It works via a save system, only the host gets to keep their upgrades afaik and is buggy. My latest save corrupted when i left the game, that sucks. Anyway, that's my take on the game. It's got promise and it's cheap. Not sure how performance is on lesser systems but it ran pretty flawlessly for me. True to their word, they did actually bother to optimize this game. As it stands, if you've got a friend or two and want a fun horror game to mess about with and like immersive sims as well. Give it a shot. The price is fair for what is on offer.
