Pretty nifty. Nothing to wow-y about it but it also doesn't have any major faults. Being one of the cheaper ones too makes it a good choice for a cheap something to do when you're bored.

A good read with some nice humor =)
Thumbs up
One of the most surprising and satisfying endings I've read in a long time. I adore this author! If you like this game, do yourself a favour and buy his Samurai of Hyuga series. It's even better! The only negative I have to say about his games is that the excerpts don't do them justice. I'd have never guessed from the lame anime pictures and generic descriptions that I'd get a cynical, self-deprecating narrator, who sprinkles in plenty of dark humor. The author makes me laugh. He makes me think. And he actually gets me to care about his characters. Buy this!
nice story interesting twist
FUN 【6/10】
Not for everyone, but it was ok. A bit edgy as far as choose your own adventure experiences go, with its appeal to a teenage demographic. However its quirkiness is sort of made up for its length of about 4 hours. Would have liked some more insight into how the world works, however you're eventually fed enough information to figure some things out. There are also other things like the 'twist' at the end which some people might dislike as well. Personally I was a bit confused by the skill checks and the little amount of choice I had at some stages, so there is some level of thinking required...
I’ve never wanted to be able to give a neutral review more than I do now. "Fatehaven" is front and center what I’d consider a mediocre game. The humor, although sometimes amusing, is very hit-and-miss. And as soon as you get a bit further into the story, the choices come around less and less often. Apart from the nature of my magic, my first and second playthroughs played out very similarly for the vast majority of the time. Also, how the story is told disagrees with me. You’re constantly told what you think and feel about things, even though that’s not at all the impression you, as the reader, may have of those same things. For example, you can be told you like or respect someone, but it’s a thief you dislike wholeheartedly. In short, you’re told a story, and you’re told what you should think, which is not how a choose your own adventure should go. The choices, opinions, and outcomes are taken out of your hands too often. Finally, sometimes it’s hard to differentiate between your character’s thoughts and words. At those times, there are no quotation marks, and it’s like the text describes what you’re thinking, and then the game behaves as if you said some of it even though you didn’t, making it confusing when someone responds to those unsaid words. If I had known beforehand what I’d be getting, I’m not sure I’d have bought the game. Make of that what you will, and decide accordingly. (5/10)
