Manage rodent populations by collecting waste, securely storing food and employing rat catchers to ward off the feared bubonic plague.
Fend Off Would-Be Invaders - Choose to play on pacifist and avoid combat altogether or engage with varying levels of raider difficulty to raise the stakes for your town’s survival. Progress from wood palisades to stone walls, build towers and barracks, recruit and equip soldiers in the defense of your town as rising prosperity attracts the attention of raiders and foreign armies seeking plunder.
Steam Workshop Integration - With full support for modding through the freely available Unity development tools and Steam Workshop, players have the power to take the game's strong foundation and build upon and reinvent it to their wildest desires.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I have about 24 hours in so far on the game. I have really enjoyed myself. I found myself wanting to go a bit faster so I was easily able to mod the game amply so quite easily - thank you to the developers who made it so nice and well designed that it's so easy to mod. It appears the mods work pretty well and I found some really great ones. If you want a challenge turn on the raiders, if not then just sit back and enjoy your town growing. I do notice when I turn up the speed using mods it can be a little consuming for my cpu but that is my choice to do so. My town was level 3 and getting huge (close to 400 people) so I was not surprised. I loved the creativity of it. After about 4 different runs I was ablet o develop different styles of towns and really found it more about designing the town right for the people and what my goals were. I love the community mods and nexus mods had some nice mods. Over all I love to watch the little people doing their thing, They work hard and deserve some kudos for building what ever my heart desires. I have quite a few of these games and I feel that this one is at the top of them all. The people mostly obey my commands. Sometimes they leave when I make them fight too much or don't give them what they want but overall I can make tweaks to make my town beautiful and functional. The fires are amazing, the wild life, the growing back after we culled the forest, I do wish some of the mines were more long lasting but that's what deep mines are for. It's hard to get to that point and takes some time but let it not be said there are some challenges. God forbid a bear ravages your town, it can certainly take half your population if you don't kill it quick. The raids are insanely cool. The little battering rams and catapults will level your town if you are not prepared. I chase those marauders down and kill every last one. The weather is absolutely amazing and don't be surprised if a lot of people die during the blizzards because they are seriously hardcore. I love this game so far and I can't seem to stop myself from logging in or just wanting to start a new settlement for the creativity of it. If you love sims / survival stuff you will likely really enjoy this. It's well rounded and very functional even without mods.
I just felt that it just didn't engage me very much
Good game I'm new to these types of games, one of my villagers died from the cold sorry buddy may he R.i.p.
If you loved Banished, Farthest Frontier feels like the successor we’ve been waiting for. The game is beautiful, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. There’s something genuinely satisfying about starting with a handful of settlers in the wilderness and slowly turning that tiny settlement into a thriving town. Every expansion feels earned, and overcoming shortages, disease, harsh winters, raiders, and all the other problems the game throws at you makes success that much more satisfying. What I really appreciate is that Farthest Frontier captures the feeling that made Banished so special while expanding on the formula with deeper farming, resource management, production chains, defenses, and town development. It feels familiar without simply trying to copy what came before it. It can definitely punish poor planning, but that’s part of what makes it rewarding. When your town finally becomes stable and you can look back at everything you built from practically nothing, it feels like an accomplishment. For anyone who enjoyed Banished or likes challenging settlement builders, I highly recommend Farthest Frontier. It’s a beautiful game and, in my opinion, a worthy successor to one of the classics of the genre.
