So I remembered about this game randomly when replaying old flash games, found its demo and also the steam release to my surprise. I bought it, did all the in-game achievements and to be honest, for its asking price and release date, it's not half-bad. The gameplay involves the player completing certain tasks under a time limit. Collect 5 wool, process 10 eggs, have 10k money in your account, own 3 cows etc. Depending on how well the player does, they can either get a gold medal, a silver medal or a grey checkmark. Most of the levels are doable first try. You may have some close calls though. After completing a level you get stars that you can spend in the shop to unlock new building upgrades and then buy them during the levels, except for the cage, which is upgraded at all times. This system of buying upgrades during levels instead of them being permanent buffs adds a new layer of strategy that I really appreciate. The achievements, while simple, I think are fun. It would help if some of them were more specific on what you need to do to get them but in the end, if you don't want to experiment, there are always youtube or steam guides. Outside of the gameplay, there's not much to be talked about in this game for the whole paragraph but I'd like to mention the game's aesthetic. Farm Frenzy, being an old game, uses an uncanny artstyle from the Windows XP era and has an "are you sure you want to quit" window with the confirmation button moving away a little and the cow becoming sad when you hover over it. It both induces nostalgia in me and makes me question whether the game is haunted or not and I love it. Farm Frenzy, being not only old but also made by a small dev team in the eastern Europe, has a few flaws, that I'd like to rapid fire through.

When the animals become hungry and there's no grass to feed them, they will start screaming, which in case of Sheep is way louder than any other in-game sound.
When you complete a level, your reward gets overwritten, which means if you've replayed a level that you got a gold medal on and underperformed so bad you get a grey checkmark, then that level will be marked with a grey checkmark isntead of the medal.
There is one level in the game, which I had issues with and it's the one that throws a lot of geese on the field. You need to be very precise when getting the golden medal and I wouldn't be able to do so if it wasn't for a youtube walkthrough.
The gameplay may get a bit stale after some time. For me, I think the game paced itself well enough, except for a short time between the first two levels and sheep taking over as the main livestock animal.
To summarize, I think Farm Frenzy is a good game. I really enjoyed the full version. It's nothing crazy but you can't really blame the title, as it was made almost two decades ago and doesn't cost a lot either.
Farm Frenzy Game Review (Disclaimer this is just my opinion and may be unpopular or disliked.) (Positive) 1. The game is short and can be playing in one sitting or as a filler in between other games. 2. The levels are designed well. 3. It gets more challenging as you continue on keeping you entertained. (Negative) 1. Sometimes when you try to collect an item you place grass (feed) on the area as-well and that can be inconvenient. 2. The bottom of the location per level is cut of in a square and not rounded so when placing feed too low it only renders some of the grass, gets eating faster, and in turn kinda wastes the placement. 3. If you don't like farming simulators, or time management games this game is not for you.
