This is the weakest installment in the franchise. The weapon handling has somehow regressed from Farcry 3(especially sniper rifles/medium-range). The characters have unnecessarily vulgar language and none of them take the story seriously, I don't mean they're comedic I mean they're breaking the fourth wall without realizing it. It's like the characters are not just in a fictional game but in a cartoon world. The first two revolutionary main characters directly contradict each-other as well. One says that "Where tyranny is law, revolution is order", while another says cause the most chaos with everything you have. They make a pitiful attempt to recreate the burning of the fields in farcry 3, but the delivery of the song is lack-luster and the lack of resistance against this attack gives the player pity for the antagonists. They try so hard not to make you empathetic too, at every opportunity they make the point the antagonist is a bad dude who aims to enslave the populace and (it is assumed) orders anyone to be killed who doesn't enthusiastically join his cause when they are called upon. Seriously, the opening tutorial just shows the bad guys rolling up and killing indiscriminately unless a victim verbalizes they are compliant. The main plot doesn't even make a whole lot of sense either, it centers around the antagonist taking control of the country and having found the cure for cancer??? During the field burning mission you can destroy "poison" barrels, which yeah that's what pesticides are? Oh, and the fields you're burning are the special tobacco that the cancer cure is derived from. It's kind of hard to appreciate being a revolutionary when they try so hard to make the regime so downright evil. If it wasn't for the indiscriminate killing and slavery, There's pretty much no problems otherwise, it would just be a dictator introducing vital industry and rule of law to a country destroyed by previous government corruption. Low effort, I am glad I got this at $7, although it may not have been worth it, It's challenging to bring myself to find out through playing the game more.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, Ubisoft. You took a perfectly fine murder-tourism simulator and turned it into a TED Talk with explosions. Remember when Far Cry was about burning weed fields with a flamethrower while Skrillex played? Now I'm getting lectured about pronouns by a guerrilla fighter wearing a designer bandana. This is DEI's final form, folks. The downfall of a once-great studio, sacrificed on the altar of corporate virtue signaling. Every character's a walking diversity checklist—lesbian mechanic? Check. Non-binary resistance fighter? Check. Villain with more depth than the entire playable cast? Also check, because actual writing got replaced by HR mandates. Giancarlo Esposito phones it in so hard I'm surprised he didn't bill them for long-distance. The "revolution" plays like it was written by a focus group of sociology majors who've never held a gun, let alone started an uprising. But hey, at least the loading screens teach me about systemic oppression! The gameplay? Same copy-paste Ubisoft garbage since 2012. Capture base, climb tower, ignore side quests, question your life choices. Only now with 300% more forced diversity seminars disguised as dialogue. Zero out of ten. Would rather get actually colonized than play this focus-tested nightmare again.

This game was very fun. I bought every game in the far cry series and this one was in my top 3 (along with far cry 4 and 3). The story was very engaging, i enjoyed looking for the armor and weapons, i really liked the antagonist, and the gunplay felt very good. I was at first sad that skills were removed, and it sucks that you cant have multiple "bonuses" at once, but overall i really enjoyed this game. I did feel like sometimes i was way too strong for where i was in the game, and i also would occasionally die to something frustrating like fall damage because my wingsuit didnt work, or I would alert an outpost because instead of a takedown it just did a normal melee attack. Overall, i would totally reccomend this game to anyone wanting to play.
