not a management game...sadly this is not what it would supposed to be and the fact that you make a "manager" game each year instead of making ONE game and updating it properly and improving it from year to year is so sad...i would ask for a refund but i already played too many hours on this
First off I'd like to say. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game. The ability to absolutely cheese to the point of making a Mclaren or Williams beat the championship in the first season just makes sense but there are some horrendous, egregious problems with this game. Firstly, the strategy and management mechanics are largely unchanged from the previous tittle, of which I played very little of. These mechanics are tbh, quite engaging and interesting. The bread and butter of the game is class. The visuals including the onboard spectating and general track designs are very good. Its a management simulator game, not a driving simulator so the amount of effort they've put into the design is appreciated. However, this is where the positives end. The primary problem with this game is the complete and utter disconnect from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reality when you actually sit down and pay attention to whats going on in the races. Haas lapping faster than Verstappen at the front on a worn set of mediums and verstappen on fresh hards? These aren't even my drivers, these are two seperate AIs. The AI will cheese and rubberband to all hell just to keep up with a specific driver and at times the target of the rubberbanding is random? I managed a mercedes career where randomly in Qatar, Logan Sargeant set the fastst lap because my driver suffered a bad pit stop and sargeant just happened to be the driver behind as he exited the pit lane? What? I get the game needs to fabricate difficulty when you set the game hardness to maximum but can't this be done without introducing rubberband. Another huge problem is the fact that half of the mechanics seemed unfinished to hell. The driver confidence makes 0 sense. Your driver is out front by 12 seconds and he's stetting consistent, fast times? Guess what, his confidence will slowly go DOWN during the race? You want to further develop a car after using CFD? Well too bad because after using CFD any more development on that part is COMPLETELY useless, even researching for the next year won't yield any results. Why bother including a mechanic that makes 0 effect. Just overdevelop your car in the season, Start the next season with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ car like you started the last season with and then overdevelop it again, because researching for the next year is a surefire way to destroy your cost cap. I've got plenty of enjoyment out of this game. Purely because there are broken mechanics like car development that can make you do some crazy things. But when you're forced to suffer a defeat, after crafting the perfect strategy, undercutting opponents only for an AI who is over 14 seconds behind to randomly begin lapping faster than you when they're on older tyres, can truly destroy the experience for some. It can make the races feel like despite everything, your input as a manager was a grand total of ♥♥♥♥ ALL. I DO NOT recommend this game for people who want to attempt to make a serious attempt, managing an F1 career. However, if you want to have a bit of fun trying stupid things or pushing the mechanics of the game to its limit, then by all means, this game is great fun with plenty of funny moments to be had.
The game seem less challenging then F1 Manager 2022, there are upgrades to this game but even at highest settings it seems graphics took a downfall compared to 2022 and the AI drivers make less mistakes compared to 2022 which is not bad but compared to your drivers making more mistakes (Example Max and Alonso making more mistakes compared to 2022 even tho their rating is higher). Game is still Recommended and can suggest but if you had to choose between 2022 and 2023 i would go with 2022 version of the game.
