Exoblast is all but a dead game, and it's not because of it's design, but because it's developers lethargic attitude. In order to play online, the game requires you to fight Server based AI for the first level. Then and ONLY then can you be able to queue up for a match (If someone is online for one). Ironically, the servers for Exoblast still exist, and their discord will say when someone is in queue. The problem is for anyone who is a newbie wanting to try it out. You may say, just play the AI. The problem is, the AI server queue is broken and the Devs know this. They have felt no need to fix the issue nor care if anyone comes in. This is hilarious as this game still has $8 USD skins and DLC for what essentially is dead game. If you come across this and wonder, should I play this? If you got someone with you irl, sure. If you want to revive a online match, don't. The game is dead and the devs killed it.

I like the idea and concept but the AI is way to hard right now lol

"Exoblast" is, well, Pong. Yep, it's Atari's classic 1972 arcade game. The developer added some bells and whistles like different paddles you can use (and made them "ships" for some reason). Ultimately this is just Pong, it's shallower than a Breakout/Arkanoid ripoff, which makes me confused as to why it was momentarily popular... of course that was just a flash in the pan, SteamDB clearly shows mayb e 1 or 2 players a month, presumably someone installing it to see what it is then quickly deleting it. Online play is understandably dead, you won't get a match, and the AI lags terribly, making this thoroughly unpleasant to play... and seriously, what are you doing with your life that you're playing 1v1 Pong against an AI in 2025? This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. On pricing and value for gamers, this isn't really free as you're expected to pay up $16 USD to buy cosmetic DLC. Clearly the developer set out to profit from making this game and locking content, even cosmetics, behind DLC while still pretending the game is free is somewhat misleading to gamers. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
