Amazing game, definetely a good sucessor for EL1. Can't wait to see what new things they add in this game (even if it is DLC).
Game is really good and has come a long way. Thoroughly enjoying myself, and devs seem to genuinely listen to feedback. The tide/monsoon mechanic makes for some very interesting plays. Faction design is interesting and I feel like there is something in there for everyone. I'm very happy to see innovative ideas in 4X still. Personally I would like to see more modding capabilities for Steam Workshop because the possibilities could be endless (heh) and so cool, but that's just a personal wish. :)
Still some bugs from the game having just come out, but the core gameplay mechanics are solid. I've been enjoying my playthroughs.
Excellent game. Holds up to the standards set by any of their previous titles, and well worth playing if you liked the original.
Always had a soft spot for Amplitude games and Endless Legend 2 definitely keeps that going. Its up there with Endless Space 2 for my favorite of theirs. Civ 6 might still be my favorite 4x, but I'm genuinely having a lot of fun with this one. Its by far the best looking 4x out at the moment and a good balance of depth and systems to keep you entertained, without feeling too daunting or tedious. Plus with the launch day sale, I bought this for $25 and its easily worth that. Hard not to feel really positive about this one and, as said, I'm eagerly looking forward to some DLC to expand it!
Realy solid game, took a lot of the best parts of similar games and made them work together. Highly reccommend.
I played the first endless legend. I was always on the fence about it. No matter what setting I tried, it was always too easy or, if I turned up the difficulty, it felt like the AI was just hacking. So far with EL2, I'm pleased to say that the AI seems fine. However, being a fan of Necrophage, I found myself completely lost in my attempts to play them here. You can't simply "build a stronger unit" like you could in EL1. You have to use resources directly to upgrade a single unit to advance it. That's fine. Except after 60 turns, I never had enough titanium to choose the better upgrades. So I had to choose the weaker upgrades. Suffice it to say, the game was not very enjoyable. Maybe I just didn't get lucky with resources. My men were weak AF the whole game, and there weren't very many unclaimed minor factions to attack to level up. I also only had like 1 freaking hero the entire time??? There was no recruit screen that I could find. In addition, I encountered a game-breaking bug. I was given a quest to attack a fort, but the fort SPAWNED next to a hive. It was incapable of being targeted because of this. Sigh. I would ultimately say let them bake this one in the oven a bit longer before trying.
generally plays fine if your plank is low enough. 1. AI army setups are not very variative, but reasonable 2. combat ai fine but should not charge to bad terrain position if is attached (why u charge if u defending? stand ur ground for few round and have a draw). 3. fortress lv 1 defenders are all the same, i wish each fortress has its own quirk 4. quest locations are visible for everyone and often and easily ruin your city planning 5. most of the time anomaly is your enemy, not a friend. any race should be able to "devour" it for one time boost. in era 3 the latest 6. occupation is bugged as hell. the only way to interact with captured settlements is raze or sack. 7. ai never surrender, even in 1 turn before capital is raized
