Emo Quest XD

I was skeptical at first, but thought I'd give this game a try. It's a budget game and an indie dev, so I played it well past the refund period. I told myself that maybe it's slow to start, and that I'll like the story in spite of the combat. It's happened before. My issues with this game: Main character occasionally turns in a direction you indicate instead of doing the step. This appears to be mostly after collisions. I do not know if this is intentional, but I consider it to be absolute pants-on-head madness. If you run into an object, you are given a collision sound. This can be frustrating given the above. NPC quests are almost entirely (as far as I got), just "kill X monsters". Using an item in battle? Hope you remember what it does, because there's no flavor text to remind you. Many battles are trading punches until one side dies. Battle music and boss music is on an **extremely** short loop. You cannot disable the background that moves during battles/bosses. When you gain levels, exp from enemies drops, and can hit 0. You still get money, but no exp. Battles feel sluggish. There's a noticeable delay after enemies go but before your action window pops up. ===== The art style I like. it fits with the vibe of the game. The little jingle at the end of fights is nice. That's all I can think of to say that's nice. I'm willing to give indie games some slack but I still NEED that quality of life.
