EMERGENCY 2

This is one of my all-time favorite games in the EMERGENCY series, despite being released in 2003. The graphics, details and the overall gameplay have some sort of nostalgic and realistic feeling that struggles to be replicated in the later games, despite being old. There are 25 missions, while the later games gradually reduced the size of the campaign, and a lot of the game mechanics and objectives are unique for this game, due to its size and the fact that old games were just harder and different compared to the newer ones. I really liked (most of) the 25 missions, and how they were not just extinguish fires, take injured to the hospital and arrest criminals, but also involved the wide variety of miscellaneous and unique tasks the emergency units had to perform to ultimately complete the operation and prevent a failure. And they were done by the firefighters and police officers, which has a different feeling than having to call in an engineer to flip a switch, but that's a different case in itself. I liked the police missions in this game, like negotiating with a suicidal elite soldier to sending SWAT units behind a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tank to arrest a coup general, and that one mission where you send in a SWAT team to infiltrate an enemy spy network to retrieve a satellite. It's like, don't you usually call in the secret service or even the military instead for this type of mission? But I still liked it. I also liked the missions where a lot of tasks had to be completed, like that nuclear submarine mission or the reactor mission where you had to send in NBC firefighters to completely disable a nuclear reactor in the submarine, or you had to send in an officer to the consulate for missile codes, or to block traffic in the highway to ensure they don't get contaminated by the leaking radiation. My only issues are that actually solving these missions in the first place and finding out the tasks to be completed are hard, because there's no task list and no proper explanation to why the mission failed in the first place, which was fixed from EMERGENCY 3 onwards. The missions were also slow-paced, and most of the emergency vehicles were pretty slow, compared to the later games. But otherwise, despite its age, it's still a fun game to grind for a while and to revisit, like most of the EMERGENCY series games in general. You'd probably need a walkthrough as well.

The game keeps deleting the save file when restarting the game and some mission are barely playable bc it has some odd game mechanics and without explaining them/or just hinting lightly to them

Das Spiel ist wegen seiner Nostalgie echt stark, ABER es ist so dermaßen verbuggt und ich habe bei der Ebola-Affen-Mission mehrere Wutausprüche und Schlaganfälle bekommen, weil es beim 13sten Neustart immer noch nicht funktioniert hat..! Die Lösungen der Missionen sind alles andere als logisch.. spätestens wenn man mit dem Feuerwehrmann den Baum im Fluss anstupsen muss, damit dieser dann Flussabwärts schwimmt, damit der dann exakt neben den Steinen anhält und dem dritten Affen das letzte fehlende Sprungziel schafft, habe ich komplett einen Ausraster bekommen!!! Ist das euer Ernst?! Das Spiel ist KEIN Rätselspiel sondern ein Simulator!! Ach ja, wenn man beim Ausraster Alt F4 gedrückt hat und dann wenn man sich beruhigt hat beim Neustart feststellt, dass DAS SPIEL NICHT automatisch speichert, platzt mir einfach der Kopf.. WAS IST EUER PROBLEM?? Wollt ihr uns verarschen?? Spart euch das Geld!!! Schlechtestes Spiel ever!
