Started playing Elite Dangerous in 2017 as it was my first space exploring sim on the ps4. Had no idea what I was doing but I was so interested in the game. Unfortunately at the time I was playing other games heavily, but I always came back to this game. I stopped playing when ps4 support stopped, didn't think I needed this game anyways since there were games like No Man Sky with their legendary come back. No Man Sky was and is cool, but just didn't satisfy my thirst for a space sim, and I really hate landing in NMS as it is fast,boring, too basic. In elite dangerous I seriously learned this game over the years as I would come back and spend large amounts of times just learning and getting good at the game, and re learning cuz this ♥♥♥♥ was complicated for me at times haha. I remember going in a space station and wondering to myself like, wow this ♥♥♥♥ so is soo cool looks like a colony from Gundam Wing. I always would tease the idea of actually going in a station after landing and just walk around. Well one day I woke up to seeing a ad for Operations. I was not gonna get this game at first and really didnt like the fact I couldn't get it on my ps5, but I got too curious and downloaded on my steam deck and was super surprised I got the base game and expansion for only 8 dollars. I was really surprised that the tutorial where you start on the base was actually really cool and now I'm looking forward to more of that. Even walking around in the space station I was pretty hyped, I started talking to my Wife and Son about how I can't believe I'm actually walking to stuff in this game and it doesn't look cartoony, everything looks amazing. Maybe I'm hyping it up too quickly but so far I'm enjoying the crap out this game and I'm now installing it on my gaming pc that I usually only use for work now. If your wondering bout coming back to the game I think you should. There's still bugs here and there but other than that it's good progress, and If you don't wanna do the new stuff like shooting mfs that the new expansion brings then go do all the other stuff that elite dangerous was and still is known for. I think if the updates keep coming, games like NMS and Star Citizen will have really good competition and will make this genre of gaming to be super popular again.
