"ELIF" is just another student project dumped onto the Steam store, one of thousands. It's from IIM Digital School in the France. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" games, we must still question what value they have for gamers. This isn't a fully fleshed out game. It's the result of an academic exercise and has much more limited value than a professionally developed game. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments. It helps their marketing and makes students feel good, but it puts the business before the needs of gamers. The students made a mildly charming game about a little girl imagining she is shrunk to the size of her toys and has to 3D platformer around a childs playroom full of giant toys to search for a book. This is another one of those things that might have done great on consoles if it was fully developed and not a jank filled, totally unpolished and barely "complete" student project. The inability to change keybinds is not just an inconvenience for many; it's a major accessibility issue. This choice makes the game difficult, if not impossible, to play for differently-abled gamers, left-handed players, or anyone using a non-standard keyboard layout such as AZERTY. Or Dvorak, there's got to be some of them still out there somewhere. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this never made it to the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for. On the important subject of visuals, this features fairly low quality stylised/cartoony low poly 3D graphics. It comes across as the kind of thing you see on mobile phones and Nintendo games, which will deter a lot of PC gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and to be considered one of the best games on Steam, the graphics have to be some of the best on Steam. That's not happening here. Let's talk about pricing and the actual value this has for gamers. It would be unethical for students to try charge money for their homework assignments, so you don't have to pay any money for this. But you'd still have to spend your time downloading this, and "time is money", as they say. There's the other problem, too... as a student project, this wasn't made for gamers. There's no requirement for them to polish and balance the game properly, all they need is something to show the faculty so they can get their grade and move on. Let's once more ask... why is that good for gamers? It's obviously not delivering a solid product. Yet here it is, on the store page, and here you are, reading my review for a student demo that's going to waste your time. While genuine amateur developers who made real products get ignored because they have to compete with this stuff. In some ways, this deluge of student projects on Steam is harmful to everyone. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free, that was a dismal public reception. But if you take into account the problems I bring up in this review, it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Since this is more of a student tech demo than a full, genuinely made game for gamers, and offers no Steam features, like a +1 to your game count, I can't recommend downloading this over a full, professionally made game, of which there are thousands here on Steam. There are over 140,000 games on Steam, not every one of them is a hidden gem. I'm here to help gamers find the ones that actually matter in that sea of Steam Direct self-published mess. If you don't agree with my findings in this review, you should definitely download it and play it to see for yourself. I'm happy to have helped you make an informed choice, regardless of the outcome. You deserve the best.

The game is cute, but there are some inconvenience. As a short-free game, I think the experience was good unless the way of control. The keyboard doesn't work, so you need to use controllers (I used Joy-cons). The story, design, and difficulty of puzzles are good, so I recommend this game if you want to play some cute, short game ;)
It's kinda a kids game but for me it was a cute alternativ for me (16). It's a kinda short game but if you have some time, you can easily play it but not more than that.
i really wanted to play this game but realized its only for controller and not pc.
