BEST GAME EVER
So many noticeable issues that have been reported for YEARS, yet remain completely unfixed to this day. I do not recommend giving these devs your money, even at $4.49. Refunding.
Better than many WW2 shooters these days! The amount of content youre getting is amazing and the gameplay is intense albeit a bit rough around the edges but hey its made by a tiny team! I especially love the Overlord missions which let you play every major engagement on D-Day.
10/10. Best singleplayer wwii fps ever. Actual attention to uniforms, nations, kit, vehicles, locations, x vs y ratios. Gold.
Great game for World War 2 enthusiasts and casual gamers. Love it!
Many mission designs feel rushed and insufficiently tested. Basic elements such as repair stations and supply boxes were missing from many scenarios in earlier versions and remain absent in some cases even today. Balance is another major problem. Weapon performance and faction balance often feel disconnected from historical expectations. The MG42 one of the most famous machine guns of WWII can feel unreliable and ineffective in this game, while the King Tiger in the latest DLC has become almost a joke in the opposite direction, practically immune to damage, even surviving air dropped bombs that should pose a serious threat. These problems suggest that many scenarios were released without enough internal testing. Simply watching battles in spectator mode would reveal many obvious issues with mission balance and AI behavior. The vehicle AI is perhaps the clearest example. After several DLCs centered around armored combat, tanks still make poor tactical decisions and fail to prioritize appropriate targets. Many issues that have existed since the early versions of the game remain unfixed. The game has enormous potential, but it needs much more attention to testing, balance, and AI improvement.
STOP RUSHING FOR DLCs!
I’m 42, grew up on Call of Duty and Saving Private Ryan, and spent years in a serious drought of anything that felt like actual war instead of neon skate parks with guns. Easy Red 2 fixed that. The AI is the real deal—squads actually try not to die like idiots, which is more than I can say for half the people I work with. Graphics are gritty without pretending to be a $70 million cinematic, and best of all I can pause the entire Pacific campaign when one of my kids starts screaming about a missing shoe. Real life still wins, but at least the virtual meat grinder waits politely. The developers keep updating and actually listen, which in 2026 feels rarer than a clean landing on Omaha. It’s not perfect, but it’s the closest I’ve gotten to that gut-punch feeling from the old war movies without having to explain to my wife why I’m emotionally wrecked over pixels. After years of nothing hitting right, this one feels like someone finally remembered some of us still want the mud, the chaos, and the occasional chance to die face-down in a ditch for the greater good… then unpause and go make dinner.
I've truly never played a game quite like this. It can be a bit janky (looking at you, vehicle physics) and the performance isn't perfect (though when my frames drop, they do so consistently with no microstuttering) but between the pretty good AI, the punchy weapons, the slightly more obscure campaigns it features, the well-designed control scheme (except in the mission editor), and the incredible diversity of equipment, I just can't stop coming back. I bought ER2 because I wanted something like Battlefield with bots or like a more modern Star Wars: Battlefront and it far exceeded my expectations in both respects. Much like Battlefield, it's one of those great games where you can stick to its greatest strengths and get super immersed or you can embrace the sandbox and screw around in different ways, often both at once. It's not as polished as a modern Battlefield title, of course, I'd say it's closer to Arma (albeit with far better controls) or the original Red Orchestra, but it still feels pretty good to play.
A hidden gem for the WW2 shooter genre. Probably gets overlooked by most because of the low price but well worth every cent and then some. Better than any AAA WW2 shooter on the market with no micro transactions or gimmicks. Highly recommend getting this game if you're an old school battlefield, day of defeat or even battlefront fan
