Jim wasn't always a studly super-worm. He was once just a spineless, dirt-eater with no real mission in his life...

The only port I know of that is worse than this is earth world jim 2. Interplay needs to sell its IP to people who actually care about these franchises and then go away.
Earthworm Jim - A Wacky and Hilarious Blast from the Past Introduction: Earthworm Jim, originally released in 1994, has made its way to Steam, giving a whole new generation of gamers a chance to experience the wacky and irreverent adventures of the heroic earthworm. Developed by Shiny Entertainment, this side-scrolling platformer combines offbeat humor, creative level design, and tight gameplay mechanics to deliver a memorable and entertaining experience. In this review, we'll delve into the game's unique charm, challenging gameplay, imaginative worlds, and its enduring appeal. Quirky and Unique Charm (9/10): Earthworm Jim is renowned for its eccentric and zany humor, which permeates every aspect of the game. From the bizarre characters, like the iconic cow-launching Professor Monkey-For-A-Head, to the humorous dialogue and surreal scenarios, the game constantly keeps you entertained with its offbeat charm. The witty writing and quirky animations make each level a delight to explore, ensuring that you'll be chuckling throughout your entire playthrough. Challenging Gameplay (8/10): While Earthworm Jim embraces its comedic side, it doesn't skimp on challenging gameplay. Controlling Jim, players will face a series of obstacles, enemies, and platforming challenges that require precision and quick reflexes. The controls are responsive and intuitive, allowing for precise movement and weapon aiming. The game's difficulty curve steadily increases as you progress, presenting satisfying challenges without feeling unfair. Be prepared for tricky jumps, demanding boss battles, and unique gameplay mechanics that keep you on your toes. Imaginative and Diverse Worlds (9/10): Earthworm Jim takes you on a wild ride through a variety of imaginative and visually stunning worlds. From the deep trenches of Heck to the psychedelic landscapes of New Junk City, each level offers a unique and vibrant setting. The level design is both creative and varied, incorporating elements such as underwater segments, zero-gravity platforms, and even a race against a hamster in a hamster ball. The attention to detail in the environments and the whimsical art style add depth to the game's overall charm. Enduring Appeal (9/10): Even after all these years, Earthworm Jim's charm and gameplay have stood the test of time. The game's quirky humor and memorable characters have cemented it as a beloved classic in the hearts of many gamers. Its replay value is enhanced by the desire to uncover hidden secrets and collect power-ups throughout each level. Additionally, the inclusion of different difficulty modes provides both new and experienced players with a suitable level of challenge, ensuring that the game remains engaging and enjoyable. Sound and Music (7/10): While Earthworm Jim's soundtrack may not be as memorable as its visuals and gameplay, it still adds to the overall experience. The music fits the game's quirky tone, and the sound effects complement the on-screen actions effectively. However, there are instances where the audio can feel repetitive or less impactful, slightly diminishing the overall audio experience. Conclusion: Earthworm Jim remains a shining example of the wacky and imaginative platformers of the 16-bit era. Its unique charm, challenging gameplay, imaginative worlds, and enduring appeal make it a must-play for fans of classic platformers and anyone looking for a humorous and entertaining gaming experience. With its quirky humor, tight controls, and memorable levels, Earthworm Jim is a true gem that continues to entertain and bring smiles to the faces of players old and new alike.

Can't get it to work with my 360 controller properly, then I found out that the creator of EWJ, Doug Tennapel, is bigoted nutjob, so I removed the Earthworm Jim collection from my steam account.

Game was great back in the day. This port is awful.
The best music out of any game in the 90's. Amazing animation and gameplay with perfect controls. A true classic! Sing with me, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRli1rRMoSQ
