This game sounds really cool, but playing it feels like a choir. The other survivors are less useful than a wet towel and I really dislike everyone including the protagonist. Your choices are limited and you can't give other teams useful commands. The art style is ugly (at least for me) and the music and gibberish the survivors speak grates my nerves. I can see the appeal for some other players out there but my personal rating is 4/10, not recommended.
Art is good, execution didn't land for me

Dyscourse is like a simplified LOST, without the deep character development. Designed to be played multiple times so that you can see multiple endings and make decisions that affect your fellow plane crash survivors.. But, is there a real alure to multiple playthroughs? Maybe. If you liked the characters enough to try for a different outcome. But, you never get much farther than a few questions deep into getting to know each survivor. With such limited interactions it's hard to feel attached to them, or to feel like there are any true consequences to your decisions. I mean, yeah. There are consequences. But unless you really care about them, none of it matters. It's not a bad game. It's cute and fairly fun once. To be fair, you can finish the game in under an hour. But subsequent playthroughs for different choices and outcomes is barely rewarding. Basically... The game looks nice, and choices matter. The story is woefully shallow, as is character development. Choices and their outcomes rarely match up with the intended nature of them. Despite being the player making the choices, it feels as if you are an outsider watching events unravel without much control over them. If you're looking for something deep and meaningful, this is probably not going to fulfill that want. If you just want something lighthearted without too much investment, this might be alright. Can't say I'd recommend it at a $15 price tag though.
Elige tu propia aventura
Lovely nice idea, loved it
Dyscourse is a $22AUD narrative choice game that requires multiple playthroughs of its short campaign (60minutes) in order to enjoy its depth, characters & world. Dyscourse has a unique artstyle that meshes well with its world and characters. It also has great variation in it's choices & repercussions which is essential for this style of game. The most important note to takeaway from this review if you are interested in Dyscourse is something that the game also reiterates upon starting and finishing the game and that is "Each playthrough should entail different choices from your last to ensure that you have the best experience". I recommend purchasing Dyscourse on sale as it drops to around $1 but I do believe it is worth around $5 and shouldn't be that low.
