Great game to get into the series. Dynasty Warriors tells the story of Romance of the Three Kingdoms in China, while Samurai Warriors are more like Nobunagas Ambition and take place in japan. Warriors Orochi combines both into an all-star version. Be aware you need to follow the most popular guide on the game to get the correct controller prompts. Be aware that the game runs at maximum of 1080p. B is A and O is X. Select via Analog-Stick only. Other than that: Pick it up at a Sale to get into the series. Even tho 8 might be the overall better game, do not buy 8 or 8E on steam, those are PS3 ports and not PS4 ports. FOr 7, this here is the best version.

It runs well on steam deck, only problem is a few videos don't play. Its easy enough to find the videos on youtube so it isn't a big deal. I played through all of the story modes, conquest, and legend. Its narratively a great version of dynasty warriors. Covers a huge number of great moments and a later story with the Jin. The legend mode has single stages for characters with well done narrative including new CG movies. An example is Wang Yi, she gets a cool stage and a CG movie ending. Gameplay is a bit older then 8, I still enjoy it since I mostly played 3-4. The endgame grinding isn't really for me but its not really necessary to see all the story. It has sad moments so prepare to cry.

Arguably the least enjoyable and most unbalanced Dynasty Warriors i ever played, and i played them all. Either mindlessly easy or enemies require you to dedicate at least 5-10 minutes per officer to grind down their health. The visuals are very bland and gray, music is good but its nothing memorable in this instalment. I've had much more fun with DW9, and that's saying a lot. DW8XL has the same story, very similar combat mechanics and feel, but its on another whole level, play that instead.
