Reviews
Probably have to rewrite this review later. Still tripping after playing this game for the first time. This game just sucks you in, gives you something to focus on while the map waving and effects practically brain wash you. This game was my first experience with Psychedelics. The trailer is cringe, idk why I bought this game years ago but that experience was incredible. I was expecting to test out endless mode and never touch it again but then the map started doing some crazy ♥♥♥♥ cause I lost focus and just started holding 1 direction for like at least 20 mins, the map faded and the music and visuals just kept changing. I do recommend it if that sounds interesting but expect like 10 mins at least of headache trying to set up controls and set your monitor resolution, it's straight broken and wont work in full screen.
Very trippy, not quite as cool as REZ (don't think this is a shooter!), but great if you're stoned.
What is Dyad?
Is that exclamation Bobby Hill makes when he yells at his father. "DYAD!" But seriously, despite the potentially confusing visuals and trailer, Dyad can be boiled down to a racing game, where you either race against time or to complete an objective. Instead of a road, you're speeding through a tube similar to Tempest or Gyruss. Instead of a car you are.... some psychedelic space squid... The first set of level gradually teach and train you on the game's mechanics. First you learn how to hook to "enemies" used as anchor points in the tube that speed you up. Then you eventually run through tubes with enemies full of alternating colors, where you much match pairs of blue or orange enemies to get a speed boost. Unfortunately, these points can damage you if you touch them, so you need to use them then avoid them. The next set of levels teach you grazing. Much like bullet hell shooters, you graze your ship near the enemies to restore energy. Energy is the resource for the next mechanic - Lancing, which lets you rush quickly for a moment, destroying any enemies in your path. Some levels between new mechanics have other enemy types that stop you versus allowing you to anchor them and it seems later levels have power ups. That is the jist of Dyad, using the above mechanics to race through a psychedelic light tube experience to the tune of a nice EDM soundtrack. It's pretty neat, but not exactly what I was looking for. It has similarities to Rez, but Dyad is it's own game. I wasn't a fan of needing to hook to enemies that can also hurt your ability to progress, though, this game needs some sort of difficulty.
Dyad is somewhat comparable to Rez and it seems to have a decent amount of levels, I think $15 is a fair price, though I wasn't compelled to completed, thus not getting that amount of value of it. Though, I got this on sale and I recommend you do the same unless you're a huge fan of this genre, theme, and style of music.
Race through tunnels, use the lance to speed up, and tag enemies and then fly close to them. Or.. rail slide.. Or whatever, since we're in a tunnel. It feels like I'm just mashing buttons and during lancing I might as well be a blind person experiencing some sort of LSD trip because it's just a blur of lights.
Не, не зашло.
Если вы под газом, то норм, но проходить это с серьезным лицом вы вряд ли будете

The eye of the duck.
Like an elastic rope for your mind. Great on acid.
I really wanted to appreciate this title but it just wouldnt let me. Doesnt support 144hz monitor, cant run it with GeForce tools or Steam Overlay (crashes\weird behaviour) and it wont resize the window to 1080p no matter the configuration, to even hope to play it properly it is required that the end user fiddles around with Desktop settings and reduces refresh rate to 60hz. When will developers learn that the end user has to put no effort whatsoever to be able to PLAY the damn games they put out? Is it too much to ask? Just put out a functional product at release. It is that simple.
