About
Dungeon Tells is a compact, replayable game about reading unreliable thoughts and deciding when you know enough to act.
It combines hidden-identity deduction with the escalating reveals and calculated risks of a game show. Not every starting board is designed to give you one completely certain answer before you act.
Sometimes the clues narrow the possibilities rather than solve the puzzle outright, forcing you to compare probabilities and make a calculated gamble.
Every execution reveals more information, giving you greater certainty about what to do next.
Use Demi’s trusty axe, Beatrice, to execute the heroes you believe you can afford to lose.
Every executed hero reveals their true Personality and LVL. Use that new information to verify earlier statements, reconsider your deductions, and improve your odds as the escape continues.
A risky first decision can lead to a much clearer second one.
When only three heroes remain, Demi can Charm one of them and turn them against their former allies.
Choose carefully. Your champion must defeat the remaining heroes using their available LVL. Deduce correctly and they will save your dungeon for you. Choose poorly and the survivors will come for Demi next.
After saving your dungeon, choose an Evolution such as Looter, Selfless, or Nurturing.
During the next escape, your Evolutions are randomly assigned to participating heroes. They may strengthen a useful champion, weaken a dangerous enemy, or completely change how you evaluate the board.
Dungeon Tells features forty-eight hero classes with different thought patterns. Each escape combines a fresh selection of heroes, LVLs, Personalities, and possible Evolutions.
Randomness is part of the challenge. You are not only solving what can be proven, you are deciding what is likely, what remains unknown, and when the risk is worth taking.
Dungeon Tells is a small game by design. Its main run is intentionally short and designed to be completed, not stretched into a giant campaign.
Replayability comes from randomized escapes, different hero interactions, and additional game modes that change how you approach the deduction.

Things I liked: The pixel art is pretty. The narrative conceit is fun. The problems: Gameplay isn't very difficult and gets unengaging fairly quickly. I want to piece together the info from every character to deduce who's lying and who's honest, but instead I could just use all my executes randomly before reading anything, which reveals the status of the executed, and thus usually gives me all the info I need. So if I want to actually deduce things from all the info the characters give, I have to self-impose a rule of not executing everybody to get info, which isn't fun. Also, there are several characters that have this "drag to reveal information" mechanic that I cannot figure out how to use. The draw function completely doesn't work for me (I'm on linux, which could be related), so there's a good chance that dragging mechanic is also completely broken, but I have no way of knowing if I'm just doing it wrong since the mechanic is never tutorialized.

So far I quite like this game but at some points it feels VERY rng based for the picking the higher lvl hero at certain times
You will love this game if you like social deduction games, I refunded this because I had thought the Rogulite elements might push it over the line into fun as I am not the biggest fan of Social Deduction games. Great art, sound effects, and is really fun, just not for me. try it out please!
If you like logic puzzles, you'll like this game
This game is hardcore but for the wrong reasons. And it's not a "found the liar" game, it's a heavy mathematical and probability game, clearly it's a very niche game with a good visual appeal. -------------------------- 1* An important element isn't told in the tutorial; choosing the strongest hero doesn't mean you win the round because when he fight others heroes, he actually take damages equal ton the level of the defeated hero. 2* Another thing, the heroes you have in your game are random but deducing who is a liar or not is actually very difficult. Some heroes are really not helpfull at all and, cumulated with the liars, you just go paranoid about who say what. Then you obviously use beatrice to clear a little but it's also a double edged act because of point 1*. 3* And then, at the end of each round, you have to choose a modifier who apply randomly on a hero for the next rounds. Bro, this modifier is like the worst thing you could add on top on the already high difficulty. 4* Actually deducing the level of the heroes is hard as hell and it can even be impossible sometimes. -------------------------- I like difficulty when done well, i love deduction and i love using logic so basically, i should be the perfect public right ? Ahem, not for this one. Simply put; - Not enough information from the heroes, plus - The randomness of the heroes, plus - The liars, plus - The modifiers, plus - The fact that even if you take the highest level, you can lose because there is also a damage system (who's not even explained)... It's too much, really, there is way too much parameters to take into account and too little information dispatched to actually help you. 50% of the time you are like "okay, well, i am going to kill some of them to try deducing something". but then, you go into charming phase and you are like "I still don't know their levels because i don't have any useful clues to make an actual deduction". By sheer curiosity, i will explain to grok how it work and see if he can actually succeed by using screenshots. Edit: Grok succeed but it's an advanced AI so it's not very surprising. And i asked him how he would note the game on a difficulty scale and he said 78/100 (it was a breach 1).
I cannot recommend this, unfortunately. I don't want to have to do a ton of math to solve a social deduction logic puzzle, especially when not all of the hero powers are well-explained.
