"Dummy Falls" is a badly made 3D low poly/minimalist platformer that was designed more to abuse the Steam Marketplace through valueless item drops than it was to be a serious game for gamers. The woeful implementation quality of the game is testament to that theory. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this didn't understand that. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $2.95 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. In this case it seems the developer chose the free option hoping that they'd make more money from the Steam Community Marketplace, but this does nothing to further the interests of gamers. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 9 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. While there's a few positive reviews for the the game, these reviews are basically sarcastic/joke reviews, and if you filtered out the joke reviews the game would have a markedly different review score. Well, my advice as always is to read the negative reviews, not the positive ones, because the negative reviews are always more honest and frank. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

This game saved my life, my marriage and my infertility
Dummy Falls is a cooperative platforming adventure that builds its entire identity around teamwork, precision, and persistence. Developed and published by Waltteri, the game strips away unnecessary complexity and instead challenges two players to conquer demanding obstacle courses where every movement matters. Rather than relying on combat, elaborate stories, or RPG mechanics, it focuses entirely on cooperation, creating an experience that rewards communication and shared problem-solving above everything else. Its straightforward concept may appear simple at first glance, but the difficulty quickly proves that success depends on both players working together from beginning to end. The game's biggest defining feature is its unforgiving progression system. Every stage consists of a continuous obstacle course with no checkpoints to soften mistakes. If one player slips, mistimes a jump, or falls into a hazard, both participants must restart the course from the beginning. This mechanic transforms each challenge into a true test of consistency rather than simply reaching the finish line once. While repeated failures can become frustrating during longer levels, the eventual satisfaction of completing a difficult course feels genuinely earned because victory comes only through patience, practice, and teamwork. Movement mechanics remain intentionally accessible while demanding a high level of precision. Players spend their time running, jumping, climbing, and carefully navigating platforms designed to test timing and coordination. As the courses become increasingly difficult, both teammates must learn how to synchronize their actions while adapting to new environmental hazards. The built-in timer and fall counter also encourage players to replay completed stages, aiming for faster completion times and cleaner runs. This replay value extends naturally from the gameplay instead of feeling artificially forced through additional objectives. One of Dummy Falls' strongest qualities is the way it transforms ordinary platforming into a memorable social experience. Communication becomes essential, whether players are warning each other about hazards, coordinating jumps, or encouraging one another after repeated failures. The game frequently creates moments of tension followed by laughter as minor mistakes unexpectedly undo several minutes of careful progress. These situations can strengthen the cooperative experience, especially for friends who enjoy overcoming difficult challenges together. It is a game that often values trust and coordination just as much as mechanical skill. The presentation embraces a colorful minimalist style that keeps attention focused on gameplay. Character models are deliberately simple, while environments provide enough visual variety to remain appealing without distracting from the obstacles themselves. The clean art direction also makes platforms and hazards easy to identify, an important consideration in a game where accurate movement determines success. Although the graphics are not designed to impress through technical realism, they complement the gameplay by maintaining visual clarity throughout every level. Customization provides players with additional reasons to continue playing after mastering the core mechanics. Different colors, hats, and unlockable cosmetics allow players to personalize their dummy characters while completing various in-game challenges. These cosmetic rewards do not affect gameplay balance, but they offer an enjoyable sense of progression that encourages continued experimentation with the game's increasingly demanding obstacle courses. Despite its strengths, Dummy Falls may not appeal to every type of player. The absence of checkpoints significantly raises the challenge level, and those who prefer more forgiving platformers may find the repeated restarts discouraging. Likewise, players looking for a lengthy campaign, narrative-driven adventure, or deep progression systems may discover that the game's content remains tightly focused on its cooperative platforming formula. However, for audiences seeking a skill-based multiplayer experience where every successful run feels meaningful, this focused design becomes one of its greatest strengths. Overall, Dummy Falls succeeds by fully committing to its cooperative philosophy. It creates a rewarding experience where teamwork, communication, and perseverance consistently outweigh individual talent. Its minimalist visuals, satisfying progression through mastery, replayable obstacle courses, and entertaining cooperative moments combine to create a game that is both challenging and enjoyable. While its demanding difficulty may occasionally test players' patience, those willing to embrace repeated attempts will discover an engaging multiplayer platformer that delivers memorable victories through genuine cooperation.
