About
Drone Sector fuses the gunship close air support role with the drone's observation and mission command. Inspired by the real-life AC-130 gunship and MQ-9 Reaper drone, it merges these powerful roles in a futuristic setting, where advanced technology and heavier firepower enable you to take on more complex and dangerous missions. While not a pure military simulator, the focus remains on tactical planning and execution, with greater flexibility in mission design and weaponry.
Guide your squads as they advance through hostile environments to achieve mission objectives. Command with precision, helping them avoid traps and eliminating high-priority threats with your overwhelming firepower. Outnumbered by enemy forces, you’ll need to maximize your technological superiority to turn the tide.
During each mission, you’ll need to make strategic decisions about resource gathering. Send your ground squads into buildings or key areas to collect vital resources and research documents—but this comes with risk. Stay too long, and you may lose your squad to overwhelming enemy forces. Decide when to extract and when to push your luck for valuable rewards.
Between missions back at base, upgrade your gunship, squads, and weapons. Manage your ammo production and research new technologies to improve your chances in the field.
Fluid, responsive gunship weapon controls
Multiple camera modes: color, night vision and thermal vision
Commanding self-sufficient squads on the ground
A variety of infantry and armored unit types
Resource collection and ammunition management
Weapon research and manufacturing
Squad building and upgrades
Handcrafted levels with randomized missions

Don't get it twisted you're not an FPV you're a Reaper/AC-130 gunship on steroids. Forget the soyboys Mavericks or the COD killstreak gunship complaining about too many sorties and desert DFAC food, your daddy is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Enola GAY and your mommy is an unsinkable German battleship. Between your cold dead Palantir-manufactured robotic eyes you have up to four weapon hardpoints carrying ordnance that probably costs the taxpayers somewhere between "who cares" and "it's probably going to get warmer from here on out". The setting is somewhere in the near future where drones reign supreme and infantry exist only to die or be in absolute awe of your firepower. You're running a one-drone PMC probably out of some hangar in the back of Al Udeid siphoning JP-8 straight off of the taxiway; your ragtag crew had the exact energy of a start-up murder enthusiasts in the best way possible. The game is not particularly deep but that's alright it's not supposed to, the most skills and timing that involves here is how to lead trucks full of foreign child soldiers with your 30mm GAU-8 Avenger before following up with a rocket barrage on the runners; remember when you can't see them surrender from 3 kilometers above, it doesn't matter and the laws is on your side. It's one of those games where you are encouraged to sit back, relax, take control your PMC and commit 5 straight hours of recorded aerial war crimes. Control is very intuitive and you're not restricted to a cutscene speed or altitude, but you can change them at will to accommodate your objectives or to stare passive-aggressively at incoming flaks and missiles (well you actually have flares for that). Additionally you can also control a limited amount of groundpounders that act mostly to sweep up enemy infantry and take over objectives, while technically it is your job to "support" them. The infantry, again, basically exist only to move slowly and die quickly, even if they have capture bonus they are completely useless so just focus on bringing APCs and IFVs instead to missions. No M1 Abrams here but it makes sense, you're basically the two guys from War Dogs peddling second hand APCs but actual tanks are just a little out of your pre-revenue. Speaking of, I do like the mission designs here. You're not shoehorned into working harder for no reason, with some early unlocks you can have open intel on the map and choose where you deploy your troops, even right next to the extract if you'd like. So missions can sometimes last less than a minute as you lay waste to everything with rockets and airbursts and incendiaries ... And you can extract right out if you aren't interested in those extra objectives. It's a sound strategy when you're low on certain resources just to send the objectives to hell and then dip and cash in. Speaking of resources the management side is but barebone right now. Each missions earn you resources to keep researching new weapons and manufacturing ammo and ordnances. Again with that new start-up smell which I think is what makes the game great. 9/10 relaxing fun but not particularly deep, a steal for its current price.

Pretty enjoyable game, research, manufacture ammo, and loadout selection is quite meaningful. There are plenty of options and each of them feel different. The loop of going to the next mission is very addictive. The gameplay also great, it's feel like doing COD AC130 mission but with more thinking and ammo conservation. This might sound bad but it's actually make it better, conserving ammo since you manufacture each of them make every bullet feel more precious and impactful. There is also additional mechanics like flight path & speed adjustment, which make the mission less arcadey, not just mindless red dot clicking. As for the downside, the enemy AI behavior is a bit off, they don't feel like intelligent people. Your own squad pathfinding also sometimes very dumb, they can stuck turning in weird spot, or go slowly through dense forest instead of taking road next to them. But overall this game is fun, definitely recommend.
I had fun until this update.....So gonna stop playing now. Maby try agian later....
Game satisfies that commander role in Battlefield 4 perfectly where you are in control of the gun. Very satisfying and easy to command both the drone and the troops. GG Kudos to Microprose for all the great games they have been releasing. I've been a big fan since their inception, MechWarrior 3 being my favorite I think (I see they are coming out with a new mech game soon too, woo!). Great job!
FREAKING AWESOME!
