Love cats and also was driving skate when was a kid, so this game got potential but mechanics and landing is not that perfect. I wish it was some quests or missions like in Tony Hawk's games but it's simply 3 levels of speed racing with skate. Any way i give thumbs up and for me game is meant to play from 15-30 minutes, because it's too short.
Controls are pretty rough. More of a demo. Do not recommend.
滑板游戏,当作赛车那种类型的游戏来玩还不错,而且因为是滑板还可以走一些楼梯扶手之类的地形,挺不错的,就是地图少了点儿

"Downtown Jam" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from University of Gloucester in the UK. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students made a very mediocre skateboarding game for furries, with low poly assets, janky gameplay, zero polish, and zero bugfixing. As a student project and not a full, real game, there's only three levels, and none of them are good. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. It would be unethical for students to try charge money for their homework assignments, so you don't have to pay any money for this. But you'd still have to spend your time downloading this, and "time is money", as they say. There's the other problem, too... as a student project, this wasn't made for gamers. There's no requirement for them to polish and balance the game properly, all they need is something to show the faculty so they can get their grade and move on. Let's once more ask... why is that good for gamers? It's obviously not delivering a solid product. Yet here it is, on the store page, and here you are, reading my review for a student demo that's going to waste your time. While genuine amateur developers who made real products get ignored because they have to compete with this stuff. In some ways, this deluge of student projects on Steam is harmful to everyone. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 14 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Given that this free student project won't count toward your game collection or add any achievements, and because it's not really a full game and more of a homework assignment, it's not a worthwhile download.
Simplistic and janky and sometimes unresponsive, I still wished there were more levels because I would've played them all <3 Very fun little skateboarding game!
SLUGGISH AND RESISTANT TO THE INFLUENCES OF MAINSTREAM CULTURE THAT HAS BAIT AND SWITCH WITH LOUD COLORS IT MERGES AUTOCRATIC FORMS OF GAMEPLAY INTO MACHINES. IT THEN FOLLOWS THAT, WHILE IT HAS ART FOR THE SAKE OF ART, IT DOES THIS TO NAIVE.
Great
It's an ok skater game, only 3 levels and the controls are a little rough, specifically the fact that you cannot move the camera around freely. There are some hats and skins to collect, but no achievements so replayability is kind of low. Also there are some awkward geometry points in the game that kind of ruin the flow at times. Giving it a recommend since it is free and an alright way to spend some down time.
Great fun!
