About

Doodle Dice Monsters is strategic turn-based battling game where you draw your own characters! Form your six character dream team, then duel your friends in strategic multiplayer combat. Inspired by Pokémon Tournament as well as Silly Band duels using playground rules, every game there is something on the line: winner not only gets epic loot, but gets to take one of the defeated Doodlemon for their own!

Using the draw feature, your team can compose of whomever or whatever you want! A Doodlemon's tier is determined by how long you spend drawing it. You start out with just the default palette, giving you a limited set of colors but unlock more as you play the game! There are no restrictions to what you can draw, so anything you can imagine is possible!
Every turn, swap in a Doodlemon that has not been used this round. Swap wisely to take advantage of type vulnerabilities and each monster tier's unique moveset! Successfully predicting your opponent's moves and creating favorable matchups will help ensure you leave the battlefield with an extra monster in your collection and epic loot in your inventory. The main appeal for the game to me is seeing how popular your drawing is. Yes, it feels bad to lose a doodlemon, but at the same time its good to know you made a cool enough drawing that someone else wanted it. There's a neat feature where you can go to an observatory and see the stats of your lost mons, including how many people took it. I like to check on this every now and then because at least my doodlemon gets to see the battlefield instead of collecting dust in my storage. Now you start off with plenty of coins to buy palettes and upgrades. You also get quite a bit of currency from losing. Good change from before.
I've been waiting for a game like this since magic pen-gel/ graffiti kingdom on the ps2. its also a great way to share art even though time windows are constrained. I'm not that sad about losing my doodles because they are just at the most 20 mins or less sketches. i do recommend a drawing tablet because drawing with a mouse takes longer in my opinion.

Honestly had a surprising amount of fun with this game! For such simple mechanics, it made the nearly 5 hours I played it for fly by! I do recommend getting a group together for this. Taking your friends' cherished creatures and getting them angry is VERY funny. As an "artist" myself, I didn't mind drawing 6 characters from the start to even be allowed to battle. 14 minutes total bare minimum between 6 drawings isnt bad! Obviously I'm biased given I like to draw, but maybe a 3 v 3 mode could be implemented for people who aren't as into drawing. Overall this was a very fun experience. If you're an artist and have a few friends laying around, I highly recommend giving this a shot! Hoping to see big updates in the future!
Overall, I really enjoyed this game and would recommend people to play it. I think it is most enjoyable when playing with your friends so you can steal your doodles back and forth but I also really enjoyed playing random people to see what drawings they had done. I did think it was a little confusing at first to understand what I should draw and how the kingdom works, but after playing a few rounds it became easy. So I recommend people to do a few "test" battles to familiarize yourself with the game first. Lots of reviews complain about microtransactions but I didn't have this issue at all. The developer is clearly reading the reviews carefully and has since patched this, because earning in-game currency is super easy and fast and I unlocking things didn't take very long at all.

I have previously played the demo of Doodle Dice Monsters and later purchased it at full release. I'm not the type of person who's really into the whole "dice rolling" thing but while playing this game it actually seemed pretty fun to have dice control your fate. Combat is pretty straightforward where you can request to duel a friend or look for a random to play against. I find that the matchmaking is pretty long but that's just dependent on how many people are online. The whole drawing concept is cool. The amount of time you take to draw your character corresponds to what tier it will be. There is an in game store but it's mainly a cosmetic thing which you can use in game coins to purchase too. The turn based combat is pretty neat and you never know what the other person is going to pick which makes it random. I enjoy stealing other people's Doodlemons but feel sad when I see mine go. Overall I really enjoy the combat system and the drawing system is very smooth. Definitely ideal to play with friends.
The rate you gain money is really fast now, there is effectively no point to spend actual money in this game unless you want to support the game. Now onto the actual review, Its just a basic fun fun idea for a game, [strike]if you enjoy drawing then you shouldnt get annoyed by the fact that you need to draw 6 creatures at the start, it can be a little confusing at first to understand what the tiers mean, I think if instead of using roman numerals they used D20 D12 D10 etc it would have been way easier to understand at first, but regardless![/strike] Its been a lot of fun to fight peoples random drawings and get to collect some of them, I've lost some of my creatures already, but its pretty fun that you can export your drawings or look at the ones you've lost via the observitory. I do think this game is suffering in popularity do to the release timing but I definitely think this game deserves more people playing it. Its mainly about the art people make. And thats enough for me. Edit: They did change the tiers to be D20 D12 D10 etc, so thats pretty neat. And they also added an option to turn one drawing into a full team once, so you dont have to worry about making an entire team of doodlemon right away if you dont mind spending your one use. Though I think it would be cool to have a consumable item that you can use to either put filter effects like what the once use thing does on some of your guys, or just make an entire team from the consumable item too.
Pretty good overall, It's not the deepest game, but seeing everyone's doodles is fun and the combat seems fair enough. Though the type chart shouldn't move. I have gone to check the chart a few times just for it to move and make me accidentally select the wrong attack.
