Dominique Pamplemousse in “It’s All Over Once The Fat Lady Sings!” is a unique and offbeat stop motion animated detective adventure game about gender and the economy. Also, all the characters frequently burst into song.

This is an experimental and highly personal work rather than a conventional adventure game. Dominique Pamplemousse in “It’s All Over Once the Fat Lady Sings!” is a short stop-motion musical that playfully riffs on the detective genre in a gentle, self-aware way. Gameplay is minimal, but the handcrafted visuals, dry humour, and constant musical numbers make it stand out. It is not for everyone, but for players with an open mind and an interest in unconventional interactive art, it offers a small yet memorable experience. Its brief length works in its favour — the idea never overstays its welcome, and the game lingers as something genuinely different.
At first the singing was a bit grating on me but later realised it was mostly due to some lyrics not having good flow and shone through better when the lyrics rhymed and flowed more naturally. I really enjoyed the story and graphics in this game and had a very good time playing this game. As a androgynous person I can also relate to the people questioning Dominique about their gender. The design of the characters are very charming and the unfolding of the story was genuinely interesting and was fun being more of a detective in this than very heavy object based puzzles in some other point and click games. All in all an enjoyable experience for me.
