Really frustrating game with terrible game mechanics. You have to rely on RNG to do damage, get crits (most crit effects are mostly useless) yet you face off against 2-4 enemies at a time. They all have instant abilities that really screw you over, and then constant static damage. So, they get set debuffs, buffs, and static damage, and then you roll 3 1's out of the 5 dice you get, and then you lose... over and over and over again. Repetition doesn't make you stronger, it gives you access to different dice and weapons, all of which are only obtainable through RNG. There is no way to build your avatar up, change their load out, or even pick their starting equipment. The mechanics really come down to, "How lucky can you get?" Oh, and if you roll too high, you lose ALL the dice and then bend over to wait for the enemies to take you down. The game was fun for about an hour... so if you have an hour to kill and want to support a game that has a unique art style but terrible mechanics, this is the game for you...

DFTL released 10 november 2025 , and now they have abandoned it. In the update they made before the last update, they added a lot of new stuff, and seemed to be in great spirits and optimistic for the games future. Fast forward 2 months and they just abondoned it from no where.. DON´T BUY and DON´T SUPPORT BS DEVS LIKE THIS!!! A lot of people who bought it feel betrayed af with all the reason for it. I will never play or buy another game with these devs
The core gameplay loop is fun and seems very promising. However, as you might expect from an Early Access Game, content is still missing. Also the game seems to be a bit too easy at the moment. A strong negative point I have to add are the unlock mechanics. Many items and skills are locked behind *the worst* kind of tedious achievements. For example re-rolling 10 Coins, which always provide a value of 1 and gain no benefit from being re-rolled. Maybe doing this once could have been a fun achievement. Setting this up 10 times is just exhausting. Due to this issue, much of what little content there is, is hidden from you unless you decide to specifically grind for it.
I actually found this game because I saw the demo on Newgrounds, and it was super fun. I have never played any dice based games before, so I had to get used to it. All of the characters we have right now were cool, the art is sweet, and I really enjoy every new run I start. But now that I know apparently the devs are working on other projects even though this game is $10 and still unfinished is a little bit insulting, I mean delist it and integrate everything in here to the free demo or refund people who paid for it.
Incredible game! You can have a lot of fun with it
Great scope of a project for my old and tired ass. Straight to the point. Good art. Woooorrth it!
Don't listen to the review bombing individuals. In the current day and age entitled people have no mercy or patience for other people's passion projects. The game has a unique artstyle, designs, visual language, music and atmosphere. It's being worked on by a terribly small team, two people if I'm not mistaken. Despite that the early access version is plenty enjoyable! If I didn't know it was early access I would consider this a finished project. I really like it and I will wait eagerly for the developers to come back to this game when their time and energy allows for it. And even if they don't, it was a wonderful little adventure! Yes, it has plenty of RNG but that's the case for any dice game ever made, digital or irl table top. That's just how DICE work. You'll know if it's for you if you play the demo. It is slightly different than the game itself which is more polished. Why would you review bomb a project if you want the author to come back to it? Are you crazy?? Do you think they're gonna say "well now that you threatened me I will come back with an update so so eagerly!"?????
I like the ideas but it needs some serious balancing. Wait for now.
Edit 5/26/26 I've tried several several times to get through this game and it just can't be done. I'm pretty sure 90% of people aren't finishing this game or I'm just bad at them. Either way; spending more hours beating my head against a wall won't get me there so if you aren't really good with strategy type games like this with a very VERY HEAVY RNG basis don't bother. From my previous review I wouldn't recommend this game unless it's changed significantly. Really fun game if you can get over the RNG issues. As of this review the devs are not very active like they once were. So buyer beware! Games fun however you need to be ready to die cause you definitely will with this one. I wish I could give it a meh review........ Versus a good or bad recommendation. Until the devs pick this back up or not I cannot really recommend this game right now.
