I really enjoy this game. I think the mechanics are really interesting, and although I've never played Balatro, you can probably imagine its similar to that. A strange, eclectic take on a classic tabletop game that includes some weird new mechanics to keep things fresh and roguelike elements. Visually, I love the style of the graphics of the game and its characters. You can tell so much effort was put into making this game feel cozy and chill. I love the weird little things that jump out of the die when they break lol. Also all of the characters' unique abilities seem pretty charming and mechanically interesting. I think the trinkets, consumable items, and dice side mechanics keep each run of the game feeling pretty interesting. If you optimize (break) a run to any high degree, you will notice that some items are much stronger than others however. Balance is definitely something that I think will improve over time and seeing as how this is in early access and getting regular updates, I think it will only get more fun to get deep into a run. This game is really annoying sometimes however, seeing as how you can basically always lose a run no matter how good your decision making is at a certain point with the system of instantly losing if you get all 1s on your dice that you've rolled (there are some items that negate this however). I think it feels kind of unsatisfying to instantly lose a run just because you got really unlucky, and is something like Binding of Isaac does NOT have. Even if you get terrible items in TBOI, you are still able to skill your way out of that run and win. This means that literally not every run of this game is actually winnable, which kind of sucks, even if extremely improbable with proper risk management and decision-making. I think the combo system/momentum is a really fun mechanic where you get more points if you take risks and keep rolling your die without saving the points that you have accrued. There are a lot of little systems like this in the game that I really enjoy, and I think the more depth that some of these systems get, the better (while still maintaining its current ease to pickup initially). Overall, great game. Maybe add some kind of system to make it so every run is technically winnable, it's just kind of lame to have a small probability to not be able to win a mostly winning run, just because of some 0.16% chance or whatever. It really always happens when you're in the middle of a great run lol.
holy hell i rolled a 1 nine times in a row when i booted up this game... 9/9 would sit in stunned silence again!
Great artwork and pleasant animations filigree the white-knuckle tension that accompanies the pursuit of high-rolling gambles. It's tons of fun to roll the bones~!
This game is awesome, there is a big luck aspect to it but that is the point and it's fun and cool and I like it. If you think gambling is fun you'll like this. I will now officially declare that any negative reviews are tripping. I have that authority, I promise.
Stupid dice game 好玩
it is your god they create reality If you like balatro, you will like this. But importantly, it stands as its own thing, without being just a balatro clone. In essence, once you have unlocked enough stuff, it is much more game breakable than balatro, while not becoming trivial. Also, you could probably play this both as a gambling addict and as a spreadsheet technician. There's both strategy as well as a LOT of push your luck type stuff The visuals and sound effects are INCREDIBLY charming. The game has so much character, there's no words for it. Can't wait to see what future updates bring Some items do need balance changes currently, but it doesn't take from the fun of the game
I just wish the game just prevented you from making downside-less dice rather than just taking them away from you. It was annoying losing a pretty good run to god basically just saying no-U in the middle of it and calling my beautiful pair of gold dice without any downsides an affront to nature and destroying them. Other than that and the circumstances behind some things being pretty unclear its a good game.
