[h1] Genuine Torture [/h1] [u] 3/10 [/u] I haven't played DMC 4 and 5 yet, but based on what I've seen from the original trilogy, I'm probably going to hate 4 and 5 as well. I hated almost every single second of all 3 games, especially DMC 1 and 3. DMC 2 is the only one I found remotely enjoyable, however a huge issue with that one is the fact that it's incredibly easy. DMC 1 and 3 were diabolical, I'm not sure which type of autism you would need to enjoy those games, but I definitely don't have it. Combat is terrible, basic movement is terrible, the story is just something going on in the background and not worth paying attention to, the level design and atmosphere in general are terrible, upgrade system is terrible, soundtrack is boring and repetitive, and I couldn't stand the characters, can't even remember any of their names honestly. I genuinely have no idea how this franchise even exists, and who on Earth enjoyed those games to begin with. The very first game I ever played was God of War on the original PS2, when I was 4 years old. One of my favourite franchises to this day, must have replayed every single GoW game at least 10 times by now, with the exception of Ragnarok, which to be fair I wasn't a fan of but that's besides the point. Everyone kept telling me that if I love GoW, I have to play DMC as well. Well, I played DMC 1-3 and hated nearly every second of it. Genuine torture.

I have loved this entire series since I was a kid, played them as they came out even. Navigating menus and getting out of the selected game CAN also be a bit of a hassle in this and figuring it out can take some time but once you get it and keep doing it it becomes second nature! I also HIGHLY recommend using a controller since the pc control layout had me wondering if they'd even looked at a keyboard before lol. And like I said I adore DMC as a series, but boy does DMC 1's camera and control set up make me wanna throw my controller and skip right to playing 4 BUT!!!!!! You absolutely should power through it for the story. It's fun and campy, introduces you to the ground work for the story you NEED to play the other games!!! As much as people hate on 2, I've never really had any qualms with it personally btu it doesn't stick out. But again play it for the overall story line!!!! I've yet to see what nightmare controls it has since I'm playing them all through again! Now for 3, usually if you ask someone's fav they'll give you this one because the controls and everything is just a nice and much needed step up! I'm excited to keep walking the nostalgia path and get here! Defiantly worth the buy, you won't regret getting into DMC!!!
